What contents are included in the application form for encouragement scholarships in Vietnam?
The procedures for reviewing and granting academic encouragement scholarships are stipulated in Clause 6, Article 8 of Decree 84/2020/ND-CP which requires that if students meet the eligibility criteria for scholarship consideration, they can proactively submit an application for the school to review.
At present, there is no specific regulation regarding the application form for scholarships. Students can refer to the following sample application for an academic encouragement scholarship:

What are regulations on Academic Encouragement Scholarship for University Students
Based on Clauses 1, 2, and 3, Article 8 of Decree 84/2020/ND-CP, the regulations on academic encouragement scholarships are as follows:
- Subjects for academic encouragement scholarships:
[1] High school students in specialized classes at universities, students at specialized schools with good conduct, excellent academic performance during the scholarship review period, scoring 8.5 or higher in the specialized subjects for the scholarship review semester, or winning any prize from encouragement and above in national, regional, or international excellent student contests for that year;
[2] Students at gifted art, physical education, and sport schools with conduct rated as good or better and academic performance rated as average or above during the scholarship review period, and winning awards or medals in national, regional, or international competitions of that academic year;
[3] Students studying at vocational education institutions or universities with academic and conduct performance rated as good or better, and not disciplined from the warning level or higher during the scholarship review period.
- Scholarship amount for subjects [1] and [2]
+ For specialized schools, gifted art, physical education, and sport schools: The scholarship granted to a student per month is at least three times the current tuition fee of the specialized high school in the locality;
+ For high school specialized classes at universities: The scholarship granted to a student is determined by the university principal but not less than the current tuition fee ceiling that the student has to pay at the school;
+ For schools that do not charge tuition fees: The minimum scholarship amount is three times the tuition fee ceiling of the high school in the locality.
- Scholarship amount for subject [3]
+ Good Scholarship: The scholarship amount is equal to or higher than the current tuition fee ceiling of the field, major, or vocation that the student has to pay at the school, decided by the principal (hereafter referred to as the principal) for students whose average overall academic score and conduct score are both rated as good or higher. For private schools, the minimum scholarship amount is determined by the principal.
For fields not charging tuition fees, the unit price ordered by the state for the group of training fields at the school applies;
+ Excellent Scholarship: The scholarship amount is higher than the good level, determined by the principal for students whose average overall academic score is rated as excellent and conduct score is rated as very good;
+ Outstanding Scholarship: The scholarship amount is higher than the excellent level, determined by the principal for students whose average overall academic score and conduct score are both rated as outstanding;
+ The average overall academic score and conduct score defined in points a, b, and c of this clause are determined according to the current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; the average overall academic score for scholarship consideration under this Decree is calculated from the first attempt exam scores and subject evaluations.
>>> According to the above regulations, the academic encouragement scholarship for currently enrolled students at all education levels is as follows:
[1] Recipients of academic encouragement scholarships will include:
- High school students in specialized classes.
- Students at specialized schools.
- Students at gifted schools.
- Students.

- Good Scholarship
- Excellent Scholarship
