What are methods for contributions to student health insurance in Vietnam?
According to clause 5, Article 9 of Decree No. 146/2018/ND-CP, the method of contributing to student health insurance is regulated as follows:
- Periodically every 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months, students or their parents or guardians are responsible for contributing the portion of the health insurance premium they are responsible for, as stipulated in clause 2, Article 10 of Decree No. 146/2018/ND-CP to the social insurance agency;
- The state budget supports as follows:
+ Students studying at educational or vocational education institutions under ministries, central agencies receive support from the central budget.
Periodically every 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months, the provincial social insurance compiles the number of issued health insurance cards, the amount collected from students, and the amount of state budget support according to Form No. 1, Appendix issued with Decree No. 146/2018/ND-CP, sends it to Vietnam Social Security for compilation, then sends it to the Ministry of Finance to transfer funds into the health insurance fund as stipulated in clause 9, Article 9 of Decree No. 146/2018/ND-CP.
+ Students studying at other educational or vocational education institutions receive support from the local budget, including the central budget support (if any), where the institution is headquartered, regardless of the student's permanent residence.
