Based on the Plan of tasks and key solutions for the academic year 2024-2025 of the Education sector, issued together with Decision 2236/QD-BGDDT in 2024:
The academic year 2024 - 2025 marks the end of the term implementing the Resolution of the XIIIth National Congress of the Vietnam Communist Party; the Resolution of the National Assembly on the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025; the Action Program of the Government of Vietnam implementing the Resolution of the XIIIth National Congress of the Vietnam Communist Party and proceeding to the party congresses at all levels. This is also the year the 2018 general education program is implemented in all classes from grade 1 to grade 12 and is also the first year the High School Graduation Exam is organized according to the 2018 general education program. To effectively implement the perspectives and directives of the Vietnam Communist Party, the Government of Vietnam on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training; determined to achieve the assigned targets and tasks in the Action Program of the Government of Vietnam implementing the Resolution of the XIIIth National Congress of the Vietnam Communist Party and the Action Program of the Government of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term implementing the Resolution of the National Assembly on the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025, the Education sector has identified the theme for the academic year 2024 - 2025 as: "Innovative, Quality Enhancement, Unity and Discipline."

How many key tasks and solutions are there for the academic year 2024 - 2025 in the education sector in Vietnam?
According to Section 2 of the Plan of tasks and key solutions for the academic year 2024 - 2025 of the Education sector issued together with Decision 2236/QD-BGDDT in 2024, twelve key tasks and solutions for the education sector in the academic year 2024-2025 are stipulated as follows:
[1] Continue to perfect the institution, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of school management in education
[2] Ensure equity in access to education for all subjects, paying attention to ethnic minorities, people living in mountainous areas, regions with especially difficult socio-economic conditions, coastal regions, islands, orphans, children without caretakers, disabled individuals, people from poor or near-poor households, etc.
[3] Enhance the quality of preschool education, general education, and continuing education
[4] Develop the team of teachers, lecturers, and educational managers to ensure sufficient quantity and improve quality to meet the requirements of education and training innovation
[5] Effectively use the state budget and mobilize resources for educational investment
[6] Strengthen political and ideological education, national defense education, physical and health education in schools
[7] Improve the quality of human resource training, especially high-quality human resources linked to scientific research and innovation
[8] Enhance international integration in education
[9] Promote digital transformation and administrative reform across the sector
[10] Strengthen inspection, examination, and handling of violations in the field of education and training
[11] Enhance educational communication work
[12] Effectively carry out competition movements across the sector
What are the tasks of improving the quality of preschool education, general education, and continuing education for the academic year 2024-2025 in Vietnam?
According to Subsection 3 of Section 2 of the Plan of tasks and key solutions for the academic year 2024 - 2025 of the Education sector issued together with Decision 2236/QD-BGDDT in 2024, the tasks of improving the quality of preschool education, general education, and continuing education for the academic year 2024-2025 are stipulated as follows:
Ensure the nourishment, care, and education of children meet the requirements of the preschool education program; ensure the safety of children in preschool education institutions, especially in non-public preschool institutions, child groups, kindergartens, and independent kindergartens of private and public types. Prepare the conditions to pilot the new preschool education program.
Effectively implement the general education program for classes, especially for grades 5, 9, and 12; enhance the innovation in teaching methods and assessment according to orientations developing students' qualities and abilities. Promote proactive and flexible implementation of the school's education program and the initiative and creativity of professional groups and teachers. Strengthen the coordination between schools, parents, and local agencies and organizations in implementing the school's education plan. Proactively review and develop the general education program to ensure the requirements of innovation and suitability with the practical implementation at educational institutions. Review and evaluate the implementation of the innovation in the general education program and textbooks.
Enhance the quality of foreign language teaching and learning, especially English, at all educational levels and training disciplines. Research and build plans to gradually make English the second language in schools.
Promote the implementation of illiteracy eradication programs, continuing education programs at the secondary and high school levels to ensure quality and efficiency; diversify educational programs in continuing education institutions, promote lifelong learning and build a learning society.
Strengthen the activities of educational quality accreditation and build national standard schools for early childhood and general education institutions. Prepare well for the High School Graduation Exam in 2025 to ensure safety, seriousness, and objectivity. Analyze, evaluate and effectively exploit the database of high school graduation exam results to serve professional management and policy formulation for learning and teaching at the high school level in localities and educational institutions.
Organize well the national excellent student exams and participate in international Olympic competitions in 2025; research and propose methods to continue training and fostering students who have won high prizes in international Olympic competitions to maximize their qualities and abilities.
