Based on the General Education Program for the literature subject, issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the general guidelines for teaching grade 12 literature in Vietnam are as follows:
The literature program applies educational methods with a general orientation of integrated and differentiated teaching; diversifies the forms of organization, methods, and teaching tools; and promotes the active, proactive, and creative learning and application of knowledge and skills among students.
Based on the program, teachers actively and flexibly develop and organize lessons according to the following orientation:
- Implement intra-subject integration (both knowledge and skills), interdisciplinary integration, and integration of priority educational content (cross-disciplinary); conduct differentiated teaching according to student groups at all levels and contribute to career orientation in high school.
- Train students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills; practice and experience the reception and application of Vietnamese language and literature knowledge through various in-class and extracurricular activities; focus on using teaching tools, overcoming the read-and-copy teaching style, developing thinking, and training students in the use of different tools.
- Enhance and promote the active and self-reliant attitude of students; allocate more time for students to study textbooks and learning materials, practice, present, discuss, and defend their learning outcomes so that students know how to read, write, speak, and listen according to different requirements and levels; assess and evaluate students' performance in study tasks.
