Detailed Instructions on Writing a Student Résumé
A résumé is one of the indispensable documents in a student's admission application when enrolling in university for the academic year 2024-2025.
Guidelines for filling out a student résumé for new students:
PAGE 1: OUTER COVER - STUDENT RÉSUMÉ
- FULL NAME: Write in uppercase letters with accents.
- Date of birth: Write your date of birth.
- Permanent residence: The address on the household registration.
- Emergency contact: In this section, students should provide the name of their father or mother and include the home address.
- Contact phone number: Provide the phone number of either parent or yourself.
PAGE 2: STUDENT PERSONAL DETAILS
- Students should attach a 4x6 photo (recently taken within 3 months) in the top left corner, and get it stamped by the local authorities.
- Full name: Write in uppercase letters with accents.
- Date of birth: Write your date of birth.
- Gender: Clearly indicate male/female.
- Ethnicity: State your ethnicity.
- Religion: Indicate your religion. If you are not affiliated with any religion, write "none." Do not leave it blank.
- Permanent residence information: Accurately record the address of your permanent residence, including house number, hamlet, street, ward (commune), district (province), city (municipality).
- Final year high school results: This section records the academic results of grade 12. Students must clearly state their academic performance and conduct rating. For the graduation ranking, leave it blank as the Ministry of Education and Training has abolished the graduation ranking since 2016.
- Date of joining the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union: Record according to your Youth Union certificate.
- Date of joining the Communist Party of Vietnam: Record according to your Communist Party membership book; if not applicable, leave it blank.
- Year of graduation: The year you graduated from high school.
- Field of study: The field you were admitted to at the university.
- Student ID number: Record according to the ID number in the Admission Notice.
- Summary of academic, work, and labor history: Clearly record the time spent studying at primary, secondary, and high school levels.
For example, for a student born in 2003:
From 2009 to 2014: student at [school name]...
From 2014 to 2018: student at [school name]...
From 2018 to 2021: student at [school name]...
PAGE 3: FAMILY DETAILS
- Father/Mother/Guardian: Students must clearly state their names, nationality, ethnicity, religion, permanent residence address, ID/CCCD number, occupation, and contact phone number.
- Spouse: If applicable, provide full details; if not, skip this section.
- Siblings: Clearly state the full names of brothers and sisters (if any), their occupation, and place of residence; if none, leave it blank.
PAGE 4: VERIFICATION
- Family declaration regarding the student's information: The student needs to obtain the signature of a parent (father or mother or guardian) for verification.
- The student should sign their name in the bottom right corner.
- After completing all the information, students should go to their local ward or commune to verify the information, with the full name, signature, and official seal included.

What are procedures for enrollment of students who are qualifited for university admission in Vietnam?
Based on Article 21 of the Regulations issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the procedures for confirming university admission for the academic year 2024-2025 are as follows:
Notice of results and confirmation of enrollment
1. The training institution sends an admission notice to successful candidates, specifying the necessary procedures for admission and the enrollment method.
2. Candidates confirm their enrollment online on the system before enrolling at the training institution.
3. For candidates who do not confirm their enrollment within the stipulated time:
a) If without a valid reason, the candidate is considered to have declined the admission, and the training institution has the right not to accept the admission;
b) If due to illness, accidents, with certification from a district-level hospital or higher, or due to natural disasters with certification from the district-level People's Committee or higher, the training institution will consider accepting the candidate or deferring their enrollment for future admission;
c) If due to errors or mistakes by the recruitment staff or the candidate, the training institution will actively cooperate with relevant individuals and organizations to review the evidence and decide on accepting the candidate or deferring their enrollment for future admission.
4. Once a candidate has confirmed enrollment at a training institution, they are not allowed to participate in further admission processes at other institutions or in additional admissions, except when permitted by the training institution.
Thus, based on the regulation, the university admission procedures for the academic year 2024-2025 will proceed as follows:
Step 1: Confirm enrollment online on the Ministry of Education and Training's system.
Step 2: Follow the necessary procedures for admission as stated in the admission notice.
Step 3: Students prepare and submit their complete admission documents.
When does the supplementary admissions of university in Vietnam start?

From August 28, 2024, to December 2024, candidates who need to apply for supplementary admissions at training institutions should follow the recruitment plans posted on the training institutions' admissions portal (if the institution holds supplementary admissions). Candidates who have already gained admission and confirmed enrollment are not eligible for supplementary admissions, except when granted permission by the head of the training institution to defer enrollment.
Thus, based on the regulation, the supplementary admission round of the university starts from August 28, 2024, to December 2024.
