1. Students who complete the primary education program and meet the conditions prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training are certified by the school principal in their academic record as having completed the primary education program.
2. Students who complete the lower secondary education program and meet the conditions prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training are granted lower secondary diplomas by the head of the educational specialized agency under the district-level People's Committee.
3. Students who complete the high school education program and meet the conditions prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training can take the exam, and if they pass, are granted high school diplomas by the head of the educational specialized agency under the provincial-level People's Committee.
Students who complete the high school education program and meet the criteria for taking the exam as prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training but do not take the exam or do not pass the exam are granted a certificate of completion of the high school education program by the school principal.
The certificate of completion of the high school education program can be used to register for the high school diploma exam when the learner needs it or to pursue vocational education and is used in specific cases as prescribed by law.
4. Students who have a lower secondary diploma, are pursuing intermediate-level education in vocational institutions, and have studied and passed the requirements for the scope of culture-related knowledge of upper secondary level as prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training, are granted a certificate of meeting the volume requirements of high school cultural knowledge by the head of the educational institution organizing the teaching of the scope of culture-related knowledge of upper secondary level.
The certificate of meeting the volume requirements of high school cultural knowledge is used to pursue a higher level of vocational education and is used in specific cases as prescribed by law.
