What is the date for the High School Graduation Examination in 2025 in Vietnam?

According to Article 1 of Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT 2024 prescribing the schedule for the 2024-2025 academic year:

Issuing the timeline framework for the academic year 2024-2025 applicable to preschool education, general education, and continuing education nationwide as follows:

1. The earliest school start is one week before the opening day. Particularly for grade 1, the earliest school start is two weeks before the opening day.

2. The opening ceremony is on September 5, 2024.

3. Finish the first semester before January 18, 2025; complete the program and finish the school year before May 31, 2025.

4. The recognition for completion of primary education and lower secondary graduation must be concluded before June 30, 2025.

5. Complete admissions for new levels before July 31, 2025.

6. The 2025 high school graduation examination is expected to take place on June 26 and June 27, 2025.

7. Other national examinations are conducted according to the regulations and guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.

What are regulations on the exam question and requirements for security and declassification of exam questions in 2025 in Vietnam?

According to Article 5 of the Draft Circular on the high school graduation examination regulations (Download):

Exam questions and requirements for security and declassification of exam questions

- In one examination period, each subject has an official exam question and a backup exam question. The exam questions must meet the following requirements:

+ The content of the exam questions complies with the provisions in Clause 2, Article 4 of this Regulation;

+ Ensure accuracy, scientific and pedagogical relevance; the wording must be clear;

+ Adhere closely to the knowledge and skill standards of the high school program; ensure the classification of candidates;

+ The essay exam must state the score for each question; the score for the essay exam and the multiple-choice exam is based on a maximum of 10 (ten) for the entire exam and for each subject of the optional exams;

+ Each exam question has accompanying answers, and the essay exam additionally includes grading guidelines;

+ Exam questions must indicate the number of pages (for exams with 02 pages or more); clearly state the word "END" at the end of the exam question.

- The exam questions and answers not yet published fall under the category of state secrets of "Absolutely Confidential."

The period for protecting state secrets of "Absolutely Confidential" exam questions:

+ For essay exam questions, it ends when two-thirds (2/3) of the exam time has elapsed; for multiple-choice exam questions, it ends at the conclusion of the exam period;

+ The unused backup exam questions are automatically declassified right after the exam period of the last subject of the Examination.

National Examination Steering Committee

1. The Minister of MOET establishes the National Examination Steering Committee, consisting of:

a) The Chair is the Deputy Minister of MOET;

b) The permanent Vice Chair and the Vice Chairs are leaders of various units under MOET;

c) Members include leaders of certain units under MOET and other ministries and departments;

d) Other special cases as decided by the Minister of MOET.

2. Duties and powers of the National Examination Steering Committee:

a) Assist the Minister of MOET: Direct and organize the implementation of the national examination plan; oversee the development, delivery, and reproduction of exam questions; decide special situations related to exam question management; direct and inspect the task performance of Provincial Examination Steering Committees and Exam Boards; address issues arising during the examination process; report to the Minister of MOET and relevant authorities about the examination organization status;

b) Establish a Secretariat Team to assist the National Examination Steering Committee; the Head of the Secretariat Team is concurrently a member of the National Examination Steering Committee; secretaries are officials and public employees from units under MOET and other ministries and departments;
