What is the sample entry for the Excellent Preschool Teacher Contest in Vietnam?

The Excellent Preschool Teacher Contest is a platform where teachers not only demonstrate their pedagogical skills but also spread love and creativity in the care and education of young children. This is also an opportunity for preschool teachers to learn and share experiences, thereby enhancing the quality of education at the foundational level.

Presentation on the education of emotional development and social skills for children aged 3-4 years

Dear members of the jury:

As Uncle Ho once said:

“Children are like buds on a branch

Knowing how to eat, sleep, and study makes them good”

The education of emotional development and social skills for preschool children is one of the key educational contents in the child care and education program, aimed at nurturing a generation of Vietnamese youth that is intellectually and physically mature.

Therefore, in the work of caring for and educating children, the content of education in forming habits of hygiene and civilized behavior for children is very important.

Dear colleagues:

To help children aged 3-4 develop emotional and social skills, I have chosen the following measures:

Measure 1: Training hygiene habits and civilized behavior.

For children to develop a hygiene routine and skill, they need to be educated through three stages:

+ Stage 1: Understanding how to do it. Children understand what actions to take, the sequence of those actions, and how to perform each action specifically.

+ Stage 2: Skill formation. Children need to know how to apply known knowledge to undertake a specific action. Performing actions at this stage requires concentration and attention.

+ Stage 3: Formation of proficiency. Children need to turn deliberate actions into automatic ones through repeated practice.

To develop hygiene skills into a routine for children, conditions such as ensuring daily life activities include hygiene practices must be met. Children should be educated in the following habits:

Example

+ Face washing habit: Children need to know why face washing is necessary (for a pretty face, to be loved by everyone, to avoid illnesses, etc.).

+ Hand washing habit: Children need to know why and when to wash their hands (before-after eating, when hands are dirty, after using the restroom). Proper handwashing in 6 steps.

+ Mouth rinsing and tooth brushing habit: Children need to know why brushing teeth is important (for fresh, clean breath, to be loved, to prevent cavities), and when to brush and rinse.

+ Hair combing habit: Children need to know why and when to comb their hair (after waking, before going outside, when hair is messy). Assistance from adults is needed for young children.

+ Wearing clean clothes habit: Children need to know why wearing clean clothes is important (to be loved by others, keep clothes clean and nice) and when to add or remove clothing:

* Cultured eating habit: Eating habits not only meet bodily needs but also show polite dining behavior, respect for others around the table.

* Cultured activity habit: Demonstrates the child's behavior in participating in activities such as learning, playing, other living activities. Children know how to keep things organized and engage in activities properly.

* Cultured communication habit: Children must know some communication rules with peers and adults, use language and communication behavior, know how to greet, thank, and apologize.

Measure 2: The teacher must understand the steps to form a hygiene habit and civilized behavior for children.

- At this age, although children are still young, they can absorb basic knowledge. Therefore, the teacher must guide the child on the necessity of each hygiene requirement and the consequences of not fulfilling it. The teacher's instructions must be simple, clear, precise, and easy to understand.

Example: One child demonstrates handwashing while others imitate – the teacher reads the instructions aloud.

- Organize and remind children to practice regularly. To form a hygiene habit, besides making children understand the significance and develop skills, they must also be allowed to practice regularly.

Measure 3: Methods for educating hygiene habits and civilized behavior to children.

The teacher needs to grasp certain training measures for hygiene habits and civilized behavior for children. Education of habits and civilized behavior can proceed through the following steps:

Step 1: Orient children toward a “model” that needs to be educated. This model is the actions of adults.

Step 2: Organize for children to practice, create conditions for children to practice according to “models” that have been oriented.

Step 3: Incorporate education content into daily life requirements.

Example: Discussing the benefits of bathing

Purpose: Children understand the benefits of clean bathing. Form habits of maintaining personal hygiene.

Measure 4: Coordination with parents to help children form hygiene habits and civilized behavior for children aged 3-4 years.

The kindergarten is a place where parents trust and entrust everything to the teacher. Forming hygiene habits and civilized behavior in children is an essential part of a child's educational activities, and parents recognize the importance of this. Understanding the interest of parents in the comprehensive care, education, and development of children, and realizing the responsibilities of preschool teachers, I have contemplated and applied it in my class.

In parent-teacher meetings at the beginning, mid, and end of the school year, I propagate to parents the significance and necessity of forming hygiene habits and civilized behavior in children. I frequently exchange information with families during pickup and drop-off times. I build content and methods of propagating to parents to appropriately implement the specialized topic and change parents' perceptions about forming hygiene habits and civilized behavior in children.

Dear colleagues: I have just concluded my presentation, thank you for your attention.

Sincerely thank you!
