b) Main vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.02;

c) Theoretical vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.03;

d) Practical vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.04

2. Codes of professional titles for vocational education teachers

a) Senior vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.05;

b) Main vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.06;

c) Theoretical vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.07;

d) Practical vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.08;

e) Vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.09.

What is the Salary of a Theoretical Vocational Education Lecturer in Vietnam?

Based on Article 14 Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH, the provisions are as follows:

Salary classification for professional titles of public employees in vocational education

Public employees classified into the professional titles in vocational education as stipulated by this Circular are subject to the corresponding salary scales promulgated with Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004, by the Government of Vietnam on salary policies for officials, public employees, and the armed forces. In particular:

1. Senior vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.01, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category A3 group 1 (A3.1) from a salary coefficient of 6.20 to a salary coefficient of 8.00.

2. Main vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.02, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category A2 group 1 (A2.1) from a salary coefficient of 4.40 to a salary coefficient of 6.78.

3. Theoretical vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.03, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category A1 from a salary coefficient of 2.34 to a salary coefficient of 4.98.

4. Practical vocational education lecturer - Code: V.09.02.04, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category A0 from a salary coefficient of 2.10 to a salary coefficient of 4.89.

5. Senior vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.05, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category A3 group 2 (A3.2), from a salary coefficient of 5.75 to a salary coefficient of 7.55.

6. Main vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.06, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category A2 group 1 (A2.1) from a salary coefficient of 4.40 to a salary coefficient of 6.78.

7. Theoretical vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.07, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category A1 from a salary coefficient of 2.34 to a salary coefficient of 4.98.

8. Practical vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.08, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category A0 from a salary coefficient of 2.10 to a salary coefficient of 4.89.

9. Vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.09, applying the salary coefficient of public employees category B from a salary coefficient of 1.86 to a salary coefficient of 4.06.

Thus, theoretical vocational education lecturers are subject to the salary coefficient of public employees category A1 from a salary coefficient of 2.34 to a salary coefficient of 4.98.

Based on Circular 07/2024/TT-BNV, the salary of officials and public employees is calculated as follows:

Salary = Statutory pay rate x Salary coefficient

Simultaneously, according to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP, when increasing the statutory pay rate to 2,340,000 VND/month effective from July 01, 2024, the calculation of salary is as follows:

Salary = 2,340,000 VND x Salary coefficient

Thus, the salary of a theoretical vocational education lecturer can currently range from 5,475,600 VND/month to 11,653,200 VND/month.

Note: The mentioned salary does not include allowances, stipends, and other bonuses.

What are the Duties of a Theoretical Vocational Education Lecturer in Vietnam?

According to the provisions at Clause 1 Article 7 Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH, theoretical vocational education lecturers must perform 05 tasks, including:

- Teaching theoretical courses at college level, intermediate level; teaching elementary level; evaluating students' learning outcomes and graduation exam results;

- Participating in professional and occupational activities within departments, faculties, and vocational training institutions; performing scientific and technological tasks;

- Participating in compiling textbooks, teaching materials; contributing comments to curriculum construction, content of the modules, subjects assigned to teach; designing and constructing specialized classrooms; designing, improving, and self-making vocational education tools and equipment;

- Studying and training for standardization and professional improvement; interning at enterprises or specialized agencies; observing classes, exchanging teaching experiences; participating in training for teachers and lecturers as required for the professional development of departments, faculties, and vocational training institutions;

- Guiding students in carrying out projects and graduation theses; performing scientific and technological tasks; coaching students for participation in skills competitions at various levels.
