Salary Classification for Vocational Education Public Employees
Public employees classified into vocational education professional titles as specified in this Circular are to be applied the salary scale attached to Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004, of the Government of Vietnam concerning salary policies for officials and public employees and the armed forces. Specifically:

4. Vocational education practice lecturer - Code: V.09.02.04, applying the salary coefficient of public employee category A0 from a salary coefficient of 2.10 to 4.89.
5. Senior vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.05, applying the salary coefficient of public employee category A3 group 2 (A3.2), from a salary coefficient of 5.75 to 7.55.
6. Principal vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.06, applying the salary coefficient of public employee category A2 group 1 (A2.1), from a salary coefficient of 4.40 to 6.78.
7. Theoretical vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.07, applying the salary coefficient of public employee category A1 from a salary coefficient of 2.34 to 4.98.
8. Vocational education practice teacher - Code: V.09.02.08, applying the salary coefficient of public employee category A0 from a salary coefficient of 2.10 to 4.89.
9. Vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.09, applying the salary coefficient of public employee category B from a salary coefficient of 1.86 to 4.06.
Thus, vocational education teachers are to be applied the salary coefficient of public employee category B from a salary coefficient of 1.86 to 4.06.

What are tasks of vocational education teachers in Vietnam?
According to the provisions of Clause 1 Article 13 Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH, vocational education teachers must perform 05 tasks, including:
- Teaching at the primary vocational training level; assessing study results and graduation examination outcomes of learners;
- Participating in professional and academic activities within departments, faculties, and vocational education institutions; applying scientific and technical advancements or initiatives and technical improvements in teaching and professional practice;
- Participating in the compilation of teaching curriculum and materials; contributing to the development of programs and the content of assigned modules; designing and constructing specialized classrooms; designing, improving, and self-fabricating teaching aids and vocational education equipment;
- Studying and enhancing professional standards and practical skills; intern at enterprises or specialized agencies; observing classes and exchanging teaching experiences; participating in training for teachers as per the professional development requirements of the departments, faculties, and vocational education institutions;
- Guiding internships that combine practical work with production labor; coaching learners for skill competitions at various levels.
Are vocational education teachers in Vietnam required to have foreign language proficiency?

2. Standards for training and education level
a) Possession of a diploma in professional secondary education or secondary vocational education or higher, in line with the teaching profession or possessing a certificate, attesting to standards in professional skills required to teach at the primary vocational training level as per the professional standards of vocational education teachers;
b) Possession of diplomas and certificates, meeting the professional pedagogic standards as per the professional standards of vocational education teachers.
3. Professional capability standards
a) Mastery of the knowledge of modules assigned to teach; having knowledge about related modules in the profession assigned to teach;
b) Understanding the practical aspects of the profession and mastering the techniques of labor safety and hygiene in the assigned teaching profession;
c) Having the capability to use foreign languages and apply information technology in performing the duties of a vocational education teacher as required by the job position;
d) Proficiently executing the professional skills prescribed in the modules assigned to teach; knowing how to organize work and services in the assigned teaching profession.
Thus, vocational education teachers must have the capability to use foreign languages in performing the duties of a vocational education teacher as required by the job position.
