Based on Clause 9, Article 14 of Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH:

Salary arrangement for vocational education public employee titles

Public employees ranked in public employee titles specialized in vocational education as stipulated in this Circular are entitled to the corresponding salary scale issued together with Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004 of the Government of Vietnam on salary policies for officials and public employees, and the armed forces. To be specific:

4. Vocational education practical lecturer - Code: V.09.02.04, applies the salary coefficient of public employees of type A0 from a salary coefficient of 2.10 to a salary coefficient of 4.89.

5. Senior vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.05, applies the salary coefficient of public employees of type A3 group 2 (A3.2), from a salary coefficient of 5.75 to a salary coefficient of 7.55.

6. Principal vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.06, applies the salary coefficient of public employees of type A2 group 1 (A2.1) from a salary coefficient of 4.40 to a salary coefficient of 6.78.

7. Theoretical vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.07, applies the salary coefficient of public employees of type A1 from a salary coefficient of 2.34 to a salary coefficient of 4.98.

8. Vocational education practical teacher - Code: V.09.02.08, applies the salary coefficient of public employees of type A0 from a salary coefficient of 2.10 to a salary coefficient of 4.89.

9. Vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.09, applies the salary coefficient of public employees of type B from a salary coefficient of 1.86 to a salary coefficient of 4.06.

Thus, vocational education practical teachers are applied the salary coefficient of public employees of type A0 from a salary coefficient of 2.10 to a salary coefficient of 4.89.

Based on Circular 07/2024/TT-BNV, the salary of officials and public employees is calculated as follows:

Salary = Base salary x Salary coefficient

Furthermore, according to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP, when the statutory pay rate increases to 2,340,000 VND/month, teachers' salary calculation from July 01, 2024, is as follows:

Salary = 2,340,000 VND x Salary coefficient

Thus, when the statutory pay rate is increased to 2.34, the salary of vocational education practical teachers can range from 4,914,000 VND/month to 11,442,600 VND/month.

Note: The aforementioned salary does not include allowances, subsidies, and other bonuses.

What are duties of vocational education practical teachers in Vietnam?

According to the regulations in Clause 1, Article 12 of Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH, vocational education practical teachers must perform 05 duties, including:

- Teaching practical skills at the intermediate level; teaching at the primary level; assessing the learning outcomes and graduation examination results of learners;

- Participating in professional and technical activities within the department, faculty, and vocational education institutions; applying scientific and technical advancements or initiatives, technical improvements into teaching and professional practice;

- Participating in the compilation of textbooks, teaching materials; providing feedback on the program, content of modules, and subjects assigned for teaching; designing, constructing specialized classrooms; designing, improving, and self-manufacturing vocational education teaching aids and equipment;

- Studying, training for standardization and enhancement; interning at enterprises or specialized agencies; attending teaching observation sessions, exchanging teaching experiences; participating in training for teachers in response to the professional and technical development needs of the department, faculty, and vocational education institutions;

- Guiding practice, practice combined with production labor; coaching learners for various skill competitions.

3. Standards of professional competence and skills

a) Master the knowledge of the subject and profession assigned for teaching; have knowledge of related industries and professions; have an understanding of production and service practice of the industries and professions assigned for teaching;

b) Master the training objectives, training program content, occupational safety techniques, and labor hygiene of the industries and professions assigned for teaching and the training plan of vocational education institutions to organize training;

c) Be proficient in using foreign languages and applying information technology to perform the duties of a vocational education practical teacher as required by the job position;

d) Effectively and safely use teaching aids and teaching equipment; know how to apply information technology to enhance teaching effectiveness and training quality; know how to manufacture and improve teaching aids and teaching equipment;

đ) Skillfully perform the skills of the assigned teaching profession; know how to organize the production labor and services of the assigned teaching profession;

e) Public employees promoted to the title of vocational education practical teacher must have at least 03 (three) years of work experience holding the title of vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.09, or vocational education teacher grade IV - Code: V.09.02.09, or secondary teacher (not yet standardized) - Code: 15c.207, or equivalent, with the most recent period holding the title of vocational education teacher - Code: V.09.02.09 or vocational education teacher grade IV - Code: V.09.02.09 being at least 01 (one) year (12 months).

Thus, vocational education practical teachers must be proficient in using foreign languages while performing the duties of a vocational education practical teacher, as required by the job position.
