How many multi-functional rooms shall a lower secondary school ?
Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 14 of the Regulations on standards for physical facilities for preschools, primary schools, lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, and general education schools with multiple levels, issued together with Circular 13/2020/TT-BGDDT, the minimum standards for physical facilities for lower secondary schools are as follows:
Minimum Standards for Physical Facilities
1. Administration and management block
a) Principal's office: equipped with full office equipment as per current regulations;
b) Vice Principal's office: equipped with full office equipment as per current regulations;
c) Office: ensure having 01 room; fully equipped with office machines and equipment as per current regulations;
d) Security room: ensure having 01 room; located near the entrance of the school with a convenient observation position;
e) Restrooms for teachers, staff: arranged according to functional rooms, separate restrooms for men and women; quantity of facilities: for men 01 urinal/15 persons, 01 toilet/20 persons, 01 washbasin/04 toilets but not less than 01; for women 01 toilet/15 persons, 01 washbasin/02 toilets but not less than 01. Separate restrooms need to be conveniently located for use without affecting the environment;
f) Parking area for teachers and staff: covered, sufficient space for all school staff.
2. Academic block
a) Classrooms: ensure a minimum of 0.6 rooms/class; equipped with: standard student desks and chairs with enough seats; teacher desks, chairs; class board; lighting systems and fans;
b) Music room: minimum 01 room;
c) Art room: minimum 01 room;
d) Technology room: minimum 01 room;
e) Natural Science room: minimum 02 rooms;
f) IT room: minimum 01 room;
g) Foreign Language room: minimum 01 room;
h) Multi-functional room: minimum 01 room.

What conditions must a lower secondary school in Vietnam meet to achieve level 1 standards?
Pursuant to Article 15 of the Regulations on standards for physical facilities for preschools, primary schools, lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, and general education schools with multiple levels, issued together with Circular 13/2020/TT-BGDDT, the minimum standards for physical facilities for lower secondary schools are as follows:
[1] Administration and management block
- Separate working rooms for the Principal and Vice Principals;
- Room for Communist Party and mass organizations: ensure having 01 room, fully equipped according to current regulations.
[2] Academic block
- Natural Science room: for schools with more than 20 classes, a minimum of 03 rooms;
- Foreign Language room: for schools with more than 20 classes, a minimum of 02 rooms;
- Multi-functional room: for schools with more than 20 classes, a minimum of 02 rooms;
- Social Science room: minimum 01 room.
[3] Learning support block
Library: minimum 45 seats for student reading, minimum 20 seats for teacher reading.

- Rooms for professional teams: sufficient number of rooms according to the number of professional teams;
- Teacher restrooms: located adjacent to the academic block, ensuring 01 room for every 10 classes;
- Student restrooms: separate restrooms for each floor, each classroom block.
[5] Playground, exercise and sports area
Sports grounds separated from functional room blocks by green belts, with covered exercise areas.
[6] Living service block
Cultural house (for schools with residential facilities): for cultural and artistic activities; fully equipped.
[7] The items specified in Clauses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 of Article 14 and Clauses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 of this Article are constructed as solid structures or semi-solid structures. The proportion of solid structures should not be less than 70%.
[8] Land use density
- Construction area: not exceeding 45%;
- Garden area (green areas, playgrounds, sports grounds): not less than 30%;
- Internal traffic area: not less than 25%.
