When do students in Vietnam study the formula of the law of conservation of mechanical energy?

According to Section 5 of the General Education Program for Physics issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the requirements for the Grade 10 Physics curriculum are as follows:

Kinetic Energy and Potential Energy

- From the uniformly accelerated straight-line motion equation with an initial velocity of zero, derive that the kinetic energy of an object equals the work done by the force acting on it.

- State the formula to calculate potential energy in a uniform gravitational field, and apply it in some simple cases.

- Analyze the transformation between kinetic energy and potential energy of an object in some simple cases.

- Define mechanical energy; state and apply the Law of Conservation of Mechanical Energy in some simple cases.

Power and Efficiency

- From practical scenarios, discuss to define the physical meaning and definition of power.

- Apply the relationship between power (or the rate of doing work) and the product of force and velocity in some practical scenarios.

- From practical situations, discuss to define efficiency, and apply efficiency in some practical cases.

Thus, the Law of Conservation of Mechanical Energy is taught in the Grade 10 Physics curriculum.

What are regulations on confirming program completion and issuing high school graduation diplomas in Vietnam?

Based on Article 34 of the Education Law 2019, regulations on confirming program completion and issuing high school graduation diplomas in Vietnam are as follows:

- Students who complete the primary school program and meet the conditions prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training will have their academic records certified by the principal as having completed the primary school program.

- Students who complete the lower secondary school program and meet the conditions prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training will be issued a lower secondary school graduation diploma by the head of the educational specialization agency under the district People's Committee.

- Students who complete the high school program and meet the conditions prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training will be eligible to take the exam, and if they meet the requirements, be issued a high school graduation diploma by the head of the educational specialization agency under the provincial People's Committee.

Students who complete the high school program and are eligible to take the exam as prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training but do not take the exam or do not meet the requirements will be issued a certificate of completion of the general education program by the principal of the school.

The certificate of completion of the general education program can be used to register for the high school graduation exam when the student wishes or to pursue vocational education and use in specific cases as prescribed by law.

- Students with a lower secondary school diploma, pursuing intermediate level in vocational education institutions, after completing and passing the required upper secondary education cultural knowledge volume as prescribed by the Minister of Education and Training, will be issued a certificate of sufficient upper secondary education cultural knowledge requirements by the head of the educational institution organizing the teaching.

The certificate of sufficient upper secondary education cultural knowledge requirements can be used to pursue higher levels of vocational education and used in specific cases as prescribed by law.
