According to Decision 3089/QD-UBND 2024:

- Public holidays as stipulated by the Labor Code 2019, if they coincide with weekends, substitutions will be made to the next working day. School principals should actively develop appropriate educational plans for their units according to regulations.

- The Lunar New Year holiday 2025 will start on January 25, 2025 (26th of the last lunar month) and end on February 2, 2025 (5th of the first lunar month).

- Can Tho: Students have 11 days off for the Lunar New Year (Tet lunar calendar)

According to Decision 1803/QD-UBND 2024: the Lunar New Year holiday starts on January 22, 2025 (23rd of the last lunar month) and ends on February 2, 2025 (5th of the first lunar month).

- Long An: Students have 9 days off for the Lunar New Year (Tet lunar calendar)

According to Decision 8102/QD-UBND 2024

The Lunar New Year holiday 2025 is 9 days, from January 24, 2025 (25/12 lunar calendar) and ends on February 2, 2025 (5/1 lunar calendar).

- Dong Nai: Holiday complies with the Labor Code 2019 and the guiding documents of competent authorities.

- Ba Ria - Vung Tau: Students will have 13 days off

The Lunar New Year holiday starts on January 25, 2025 (the 26th of the last lunar month) and ends on February 6, 2025 (9th of the first lunar month).

- Soc Trang: 14 days

Holidays including Gregorian New Year, Lunar New Year; traditional days of the Khmer ethnic group: Follow the general regulations of the Labor Code 2019 and annual guiding documents.

Under Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT 2024 regarding the Framework Plan for the 2024 - 2025 academic year for preschool, general, and continuing education.

The Ministry of Education and Training issues the framework plan for the 2024 - 2025 academic year for preschool, general, and continuing education nationwide as follows:

- The earliest school opening date is set 1 week before the official commencement ceremony. For first graders, the earliest start date is 2 weeks prior to the commencement ceremony.

- The commencement ceremony is organized on September 05, 2024.

- The first semester ends before January 18, 2025, and the school year is completed before May 31, 2025.

 - The recognition of completion of primary education and graduation from lower secondary education is conducted before June 30, 2025.

- Enrollment for the first classes of all educational levels is completed before July 31, 2025.

- The national high school exam 2025 is scheduled to take place on June 26 and June 27, 2025.

- Other national-level exams are organized as per the Ministry of Education and Training’s guidelines and regulations.

Thus, after January 5, 2025 in the lunar calendar, the high school graduation exam will be held in June 2025.

What are the guidelines for registration for the High School Graduation Exam 2025 in Vietnam?

Under Article 20 of the Draft Regulation on the High School Graduation Exam Download

- Place of registration:

+ Candidates specified in point a, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation can register online or directly at the high school where attending grade 12;

+ Candidates specified in points b, c, d, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation shall register at locations (referred to as registration places) designated by the Department of Education and Training. The head of the unit where registration takes place is responsible for tasks as prescribed in Article 64 of this Regulation.

- Paper registration:

+ To qualify for high school graduation: Candidates must take the literature paper, mathematics paper, and 1 optional paper, including 2 papers from the following: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and legal education, Informatics, Technology - Industry, Technology - Agriculture, Foreign Language. Candidates can choose 2 subjects of the optional paper among those already studied in grade 12. Candidates may register a foreign language paper other than one studied at upper secondary school;

+ Candidates under the provisions of points c, d, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation register papers according to their wish.

- Registration documents:

+ Registration form;

+ Valid certificates to receive policy preferences, and encouragement (if any);

+ Size 4x6 photo taken in the style of a citizen ID card, taken not more than six months before submitting the registration;

+ Copy of lower secondary diploma (for candidates under points b, d, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation);

+ Copy of upper secondary transcript (for candidates under point b, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation);

+ Copy of upper secondary diploma (for candidates under point c, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation);

+ Copy of intermediate diploma, copy of learning record or transcript of culture papers at the upper secondary school according to the Education Law and current guiding documents of the Ministry of Education and Training (for candidates under point d, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation);

+ Certificate of retained scores (if any) issued by the Principal of the upper secondary school where the candidate took the exam previously or certified by the Department of Education and Training where the candidate sat for the exam if taken in another province.

- Submission of registration documents for candidates under point a, clause 1, Article 18:

+ Candidates registering online: fill in the online registration form at the portal designated by the Ministry of Education and Training and submit the original or certified copies from the originals or copies issued from the original book or accompanied by the original for comparison (collectively referred to as copies) of supporting documents to receive priority policies, encouragement for the place for receiving documents;

+ Candidates unable to register online can submit directly as follows: complete the registration form according to the form issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and submit it to the place for receiving documents along with copies of documentation to receive priority policies, and encouragement (if any).

- Submission of registration documents for candidates under points b, c, d, clause 1, Article 18:

+ Candidates registering online: fill in the online registration form at the portal designated by the Ministry of Education and Training, then print out 2 copies of the downloaded registration form, submit them to the place for receiving documents; copies of supporting documents to receive priority policies, encouragement (if any) are submitted along with the registration form at the place for receiving documents;

+ Candidates unable to register online can submit directly as follows: complete the registration form according to the form issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and submit it to the place for receiving documents along with copies of documentation to receive priority policies, and encouragement (if any).

- Time to submit registration documents

Candidates submit registration documents according to the time specified in the annual high school graduation examination guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.

If errors or omissions are discovered at the end of the registration deadline, candidates must promptly notify the Principal of the upper secondary school or the Head of the unit where registration took place or notify the Chief Examination Officer on the exam procedures day for amendments and supplements.

- Organization of registration:

+ Candidates register according to the guidelines and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training;

+ Candidates submit documents for recognition of high school graduation along with registration documents;

+ The Principal of the upper secondary school or Head of the unit where registration takes place is responsible:

- Issuing accounts and passwords to candidates under point a, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation; guide candidates in preparing documents for online registration; guide candidate registration; collect registration forms, enter information of candidates registering (for those registering directly);

- Collect registration documents from candidates under points b, c, d, clause 1, Article 19 of this Regulation; issue accounts to candidates immediately when collecting documents (for direct registration);

- Review, and update information on the study results of candidates in the upper secondary school; check information from national citizen data sources to confirm priority status according to permanent residence, and ethnic group for candidates (conducted on the Examination Management System);

- Organize the review of registration documents and publicly announce cases not eligible to take the exam as stipulated in clause 2, Article 19 of this Regulation no later than 15 days before the exam; manage registration documents and transfer registration documents and data to the Department of Education and Training;

d) The candidate's account is the Citizen Identification Card/Identification Card number/Personal Identification Number issued by the Police Authority. For candidates without Citizen Identification Card/Identification Card number/Personal Identification Number or without Vietnamese nationality, the candidate's Passport number is used as a replacement. In case candidates do not have Citizen Identification Card/Identification Card number/Personal Identification Number/Passport number, the Examination Management System will assign a 12-character code to the candidate for management;

+ The Department of Education and Training manages candidate registration data and sends data to the Ministry of Education and Training;

+ The Ministry of Education and Training manages the nationwide registration data.

- Review of data:

+ The Department of Education and Training directs upper secondary schools and registration units to check and cross-check information of candidates, high school graduation recognition, information on priority and encouragement status in graduation recognition; organize the retention of registration documents for examinees;

+ To ensure the accuracy of examination organization data, registration units print candidate information currently in grade 12 from the Examination Management System (registration form, registration form for graduation recognition) and organize for students to review, and sign verification.
