Graduation recognition and degree awarding
- Students are considered for and recognized for graduation when they meet the following conditions:
a) Accumulate enough courses, credits, and complete other mandatory contents as required by the training program, reaching the output standards of the training program;
b) The average GPA of the entire course is from average or above;
c) At the time of graduation consideration, they are not subject to criminal prosecution or disciplinary suspension from study.

Based on Point c Clause 1 Article 11 of the Regulations on Undergraduate Education issued with Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT, it is stipulated as follows:
Handling of Academic Results by Credit
- At the end of each main semester, students are warned for academic performance based on several conditions as follows:
a) The total number of credits failed in the semester exceeds 50% of the registered credit volume in the semester, or the total number of outstanding credits from the beginning of the course exceeds 24;
b) The semester GPA is below 0.8 for the first semester of the course, below 1.0 for the following semesters;
c) The average GPA is below 1.2 for first-year students, below 1.4 for second-year students, below 1.6 for third-year students, and below 1.8 for students in subsequent years.
- Students are expelled in the following cases:
a) The number of academic warnings or the level of academic warnings exceeds the limit specified by the training institution;
b) The study duration exceeds the limit specified in Clause 5 Article 2 of these Regulations.
- The regulations of the training institution specify:
a) The selection of applying certain conditions for academic warnings, the limit on the number of warnings, or the level of academic warnings, but not exceeding 2 consecutive warnings;
b) The process and procedures for academic warnings, expulsion; notification of the applied form to the students;
c) The retention of accumulated academic results in case students are expelled.
Thus, students trained by the credit-based method with a average GPA below 1.2 for first-year students, below 1.4 for second-year students, below 1.6 for third-year students, and below 1.8 for students in subsequent years will be warned for academic performance.

- At the end of each academic year, students are evaluated as achieving the normal study progress and allowed to continue to the next academic year if they meet both of the following conditions:
a) The academic year GPA is from 1.0 and above for the first year, from 1.2 and above for the second year, and from 1.4 and above for the third year onward;
b) The total number of outstanding credits from the start of the course does not exceed 16.
2. Students are expelled in the following cases:
a) The academic year GPA is below 0.8;
b) The average GPA is below 1.2 after 2 years, below 1.4 after 3 years, and below 1.6 from the 4th year onward;
c) The study duration exceeds the limit specified in Clause 5 Article 2 of these Regulations.
- Students not subject to the provisions of Clauses 1 and 2 of this Article are assigned to study with later cohorts to improve their academic results.
- The regulations of the training institution specify:
a) The selection of applying certain conditions for academic warnings similar to the provisions for credit-based training in Clause 1 Article 11 of these Regulations;
b) The process and procedures for academic warnings (if any), expulsion; notification of the applied form to the students;
c) The retention of accumulated academic results in case students are expelled.
Thus, students in annual training with a average GPA below 1.2 after 2 years, below 1.4 after 3 years, and below 1.6 from the 4th year onward will be expelled.
