What is a student's card?
A student's card contains specific information about a student, providing identification details about who the student is during their study period. This card is managed and issued by the school where the student is enrolled.
Additionally, a student's card typically includes the following information:
[1] Name of the school (above the school name is the Department of Education and Training of the province or city where the school is located).
[2] School logo (the school logo is usually placed at the top left or right corner of the card).
[3] Photo of the student (this photo is usually printed or pasted on the card with a 3x4 size to easily identify the student).
[4] Name of the student (full name of the student, may also include the full date of birth).
[5] Class of the student (the class the student will be in for the academic year).
[6] Academic year (e.g., the academic year 2024-2025).
[7] Red seal of the issuing school.
*Note: The validity of a student's card is usually one academic year or can be issued for the entire educational level depending on the school's regulations.

Will students losing their student's cards be disciplined in Vietnam?
Based on Article 1 of the Charter for middle schools, high schools, and schools with multiple education levels issued together with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT:
Scope of application and subjects of application
1. This charter regulates the organization and activities of middle schools, high schools, and schools with multiple education levels, including: school organization and management; organization of educational activities in schools; duties and rights of teachers and staff; duties and rights of students; school properties and finances; relationships between school, family, and society.
2. This charter applies to middle schools, high schools, schools with multiple education levels, special schools, other educational institutions implementing general education programs (collectively referred to as secondary schools), and related organizations and individuals.
Simultaneously, according to Article 38 of the Charter for middle schools, high schools, and schools with multiple education levels issued together with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT which stipulates rewards and discipline as follows:

2. Students who commit mistakes during their study and training will be educated or disciplined in the following forms:
a) Reminders, direct support, and assistance to help students correct their mistakes.
b) Reprimands, informing parents to coordinate in helping students correct their mistakes.
c) Temporary suspension from school and implementing other educational measures according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Thus, according to the above regulations, the act of losing a student's card is not subject to disciplinary measures during the study and training period.
Therefore, if a student loses their card, they should immediately report to their teacher or school for a replacement (there may be a fee for reissuing) and they may be reminded to be more careful in using the card.
Rights of students at various educational levels in an educational environment in Vietnam?
Based on Article 35 of the Primary School Charter issued together with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, primary school students have the following rights:
* Rights of primary school students
- Right to learn
+ To be educated and learn to develop comprehensively and maximize one's potential; to study in a school or class that implements the primary education program convenient for their commute within their residential area.
+ Students can choose their school or transfer to another school outside their residential area, if the school can accommodate them.
+ Students of primary school age returning from overseas, children of foreigners studying or working in Vietnam, and children in difficult circumstances who have not had the opportunity to go to school can be transferred into a primary school if desired, with the principal organizing a level assessment to place them in an appropriate class.
+ Disabled students can study inclusively in a mainstream primary school; are ensured the conditions to study and train; are allowed to study and be assessed according to personal education plans.
+ Students can shorten the time to complete the program, study at an older age than regulated, extend time to study, or repeat a grade.
+ Students with good health and intellectual development may be allowed to skip a grade within the educational level. The procedures for this are as follows:
++ Parents or guardians of the student submit a request to the school.
++ The school principal establishes a survey and advisory council, including the principal or vice principal, representatives of the parent association, class teacher, teachers of higher grades, medical staff, and the team leader.
++ Based on the council's survey results, the principal completes the dossier and reports to the Director of Education and Training for consideration and decision.
+ Students who have limited academic results, despite receiving direct instruction and help from teachers, parents, or guardians, and still fail to meet the requirements, depending on the level of failure, the teacher may report to the principal for decision on whether the student progresses to the next grade or repeats the grade, while coordinating with the family to implement suitable educational measures.
- Right to protection, care, respect, and equal treatment; ensured rights and legitimate interests; provided with full information about their learning and training process; and guaranteed conditions for time, material facilities, hygiene, and safety for learning and training.
- Right to participate in activities to develop individual abilities; express their opinions, and wishes.
- Eligible to receive scholarships and social policies.
- Entitled to other rights as prescribed by law.
* Rights of middle and high school students
(Article 35 of the Charter issued together with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT)
- Equal access to comprehensive education, ensured conditions for learning time, material facilities, hygiene, and safety for in-class and self-study at home; provided with information about their learning and training; and allowed to use equipment and means serving educational, cultural, and sports activities according to school regulations.
- Right to respect and protection; fair, democratic treatment; right to appeal against school and educational management decisions regarding themselves; right to transfer schools for legitimate reasons according to current regulations; right to early admission, grade skipping, or study at older ages than regulated as per Article 33 of the Charter issued together with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT.
- Participation in activities to develop talents in subjects, sports, or arts organized by the school if conditions permit.
- Eligible to receive scholarships or other assistance according to regulations for students receiving social policies, those with difficulties in life, and students with special talents.
- Right to transfer schools if meeting conditions according to regulations; the transfer procedure is according to the Ministry of Education and Training's regulations.
