What is October 20 called in English?
October 20 is commonly referred to in English as "Vietnamese Women's Day" (Ngày Phụ nữ Việt Nam). This is a special day to honor the contributions of Vietnamese women to society.
Historical commemoration: On October 20, 1930, the Vietnam Women's Anti-imperialist Association (the predecessor of today's Vietnam Women's Union) was officially established. To commemorate this significant event and honor the role of Vietnamese women in the struggle for national liberation, the Communist Party of Vietnam designated October 20 as the traditional day of the Association and also as a commemoration day for Vietnamese women.

What are regulations on the number of parent meetings per year in Vietnam?
Pursuant to the provision at Clause 1, Article 9 of the Charter of the Parent-Teacher Committee issued together with Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT, parent meetings are regulated as follows:
Activities of parents and the Parent-Teacher Committee
1. Meetings of all parents:
a) At the beginning of the school year, the homeroom teacher organizes a meeting of all parents to elect the class Parent-Teacher Comittee with the number of members prescribed at Point a, Clause 1, Article 3 of this Charter. During the school year, organize three meetings of all class parents: At the beginning of the school year, at the end of the first semester, at the end of the school year, and organize extraordinary meetings when at least 50% of parents of the class request;
b) Whether or not to organize a whole school parents meeting is at the discretion of the school's Parent-Teacher Comittee.
Thus, according to the above regulation, in one academic year, the entire class parent meeting will be organized three times:
- Parent-teacher meeting at the beginning of the year
- Parent-teacher meeting at the end of the first semester
- Parent-teacher meeting at the end of the school year
Additionally, if at least 50% of the class parents request, an extraordinary meeting will be organized.

What are regulations on the organizational structure of the class Parent-Teacher Comittee in Vietnam?
According to Article 3 of Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT, the Parent-Teacher Comittee is organized as follows:
- Class Parent-Teacher Comittee.
+ Each class has a Parent-Teacher Comittee consisting of 3 to 5 members, including a head and a deputy head.
+ The members of the class Parent-Teacher Comittee are enthusiastic individuals, responsible for cooperating with the class homeroom teacher, subject teachers, the school, and representing the parents of the class in educational activities for students.
- The term of the class Parent-Teacher Comittee, the school Parent-Teacher Comittee is one academic year; the term ends at the beginning of the next academic year, except for the final grade class Parent-Teacher Comittee whose term ends at the end of the school year.
- The members of the Parent-Teacher Comittee can be changed or supplemented when necessary upon the head’s proposal. Changes or supplements of class Parent-Teacher Comittee members are decided by all class parents; changes or supplements of school Parent-Teacher Comittee members are decided by the entire school Parent-Teacher Comittee.
- The Parent-Teacher Comittee acts on the principle of consensus. Discussions and agreements within the Parent-Teacher Comittee are recorded in meeting minutes.
In addition, the class Parent-Teacher Comittee has duties and powers as stipulated in Article 4 of Circular 55/2011/TT-BGDDT as follows:
- Duties of the class Parent-Teacher Comittee:
+ Coordinate with the homeroom teacher and subject teachers to organize educational activities for students;
+ Coordinate with the homeroom teacher to prepare the content for parent meetings during the academic year;
+ Participate in moral education for students; nurture and encourage excellent students, assist weaker students, motivate drop-outs to return to school; assist underprivileged, disabled, and other disadvantaged students.
- Rights of the class Parent-Teacher Comittee:
+ Decide to convene parent meetings as stipulated in Article 9 of this Charter (except for the first meeting to elect the class Parent-Teacher Comittee) after agreeing with the homeroom teacher;
+ Gather opinions from class parents on student management measures to make specific recommendations to the homeroom teacher, subject teachers on improving moral education quality, teaching and learning quality;
+ Coordinate organizing extracurricular activities, traditional education, cultural, art, and sports activities to achieve comprehensive educational goals for students after agreeing with the homeroom teacher.
