Public holidays

1. Employees shall be entitled to fully paid days off on the following public holidays:

a) Gregorian Calendar New Year Holiday: 01 day (the 1st of January of the Gregorian calendar);

b) Lunar New Year Holidays: 05 days;

c) Victory Day: 01 day (the 30th of April of the Gregorian calendar);

d) International Labor Day: 01 day (the 1st of May of the Gregorian calendar);

dd) National Day: 02 days (the 2nd of September of the Gregorian calendar and the previous or next day);

e) Hung Kings Commemoration Day: 01 day (the 10th of the third month of the Lunar calendar).

Under Article 6 of the Code of Conduct in preschool education institutions, compulsory education institutions, and continuing education institutions issued with Circular 06/2019/TT-BGDDT, the code of conduct for male teachers in the educational environment in Vietnam is as follows:

- Behavior with learners: Use standard and easily understandable language, give praise or criticisms to proper entities and in appropriate situations; stay exemplary, magnanimous, responsible, loving; respect differences, give fair treatment, counsel, listen to and encourage learners; actively prevent and combat school violence, build safe, healthy, friendly educational environment. Do not offend, hurt, self-seeking; do not repress, prejudice, inflict violence, abuse; do not ignore, avoid or hide learners' violations.

- Behavior with administrative officers: Use language which is respectful, honest, enquiring, positive and shows clear opinions; obey the direction, administration and assignment of leaders as prescribed. Do not offend, cause disunity; do not ignore, evade or conceal the misconduct of administrative officers.

- Behavior with colleagues and staff: Use language which is proper, honest, friendly, enquiring, and supportive; respect the difference; protect reputation, honor and dignity of colleagues and staff. Do not offend, show soullessness, cause disunity.

- Behavior with learners’ parents: Use language which is proper, honest, respectful, friendly, and cooperative. Do not offend, place pressure, self-seeking.

- Behavior with visitors to educational institutions: Use proper and respectful language. Do not offend, cause difficulties and troubles.

What are the prohibited acts for male teachers in Vietnam?

According to Article 31 of the lower secondary school, upper secondary school and multi-level school charter issued with Circular 32-2020-TT-BGDDT, the prohibited acts for male teachers in Vietnam are:

- Strip students and coworkers of their honor or dignity; infringe upon bodily integrity of students and coworkers. 

- Act dishonestly during an examination or admission process; act dishonestly during assessment of student performance; skip teaching or cut teaching or educational contents without permission.

- Distort teaching or educational contents; teach wrong knowledge or contents that are against the education guidelines or viewpoints of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the State.

- Force students to take extra classes for money; take advantage of educational sponsorship or assistance to forcibly extract cash or kind contributions.

- Smoke or consume alcohol or other stimulants while participating in teaching or educational activities.

- Hinder support given to teaching or educational activities and other activities.
