*Why is it called "Black Friday"?

There are two main theories explaining the name "Black Friday":

Origin from Philadelphia: In the 1960s, police in Philadelphia used the term "Black Friday" to describe the chaotic traffic and crowded conditions when people flocked to shop after Thanksgiving.

Origin from accounting: Another theory suggests that small stores often recorded losses in red ink and profits in black ink. Thanks to the substantial promotional programs on the Friday after Thanksgiving, many small stores moved from loss to profit, switching from red to black ink.

*Why does Black Friday attract so many people?

Deep discounts: Stores and brands often release substantial offers and steep discounts on this day, attracting consumers seeking valuable deals.
