Is 10th-grade Literature a compulsory subject in Vietnam?
Under Section V of the General Education Program in Literature issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT on the orientations to educational content:
- Literature is a compulsory subject from Grade 1 to Grade 12. At the primary education level, it is called Vietnamese Language, while in lower and upper secondary education levels, it is called Literature.
- The core content of the subject includes basic, essential knowledge and skills about the Vietnamese Language and literature, meeting the required outcomes regarding students' qualities and competencies at each educational level; divided into two stages: the basic education stage and the career-oriented education stage.
Under the above regulation, 10th-grade Literature is a compulsory subject in the general education program.
