Pursuant to the provisions of Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019, holidays are specifically regulated as follows:

Holidays

1. Employees are entitled to days off with full pay on the following holidays:

a) New Year's Day: 1 day (January 1 of the Gregorian calendar);

b) Lunar New Year: 5 days;

c) Victory Day: 1 day (April 30 of the Gregorian calendar);

d) International Labor Day: 1 day (May 1 of the Gregorian calendar);

dd) National Day: 2 days (September 2 of the Gregorian calendar and 1 day immediately before or after);

e) Hung Kings Commemoration Day: 1 day (March 10 of the lunar calendar).

2. Foreign employees working in Vietnam besides the holidays prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article are also entitled to one additional day of the traditional New Year of their country and one day of their national day.

3. Annually, based on practical conditions, the Prime Minister of Vietnam decides on specific holidays at points b and đ of Clause 1 of this Article.

Article 1 of Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT 2024 states the following:

Issuing the framework for the academic year schedule 2024 - 2025 applicable to preschool, general education and lifelong education nationwide as follows:

1. Commencement is at least one week before the opening ceremony. For grade 1, commencement is at least two weeks before the opening ceremony.

2. The opening ceremony is held on September 5, 2024.

3. Semester I ends before January 18, 2025, and the program and academic year end before May 31, 2025.

4. Assessment for completion of primary education and recognition of graduation for secondary education before June 30, 2025.

5. Completion of primary level enrollment before July 31, 2025.

6. The national high school graduation examination for 2025 is tentatively held on June 26 and June 27, 2025.

7. Other national examinations are organized according to the regulations and guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Thus, the holidays for primary school students in the academic year 2024-2025 may include:

(1) New Year's Day

(2) Lunar New Year

(3) Victory Day (April 30 of the Gregorian calendar)

(4) International Labor Day (May 1 of the Gregorian calendar)

(5) National Day (September 2 of the Gregorian calendar)

(6) Hung Kings Commemoration Day (March 10 of the lunar calendar)

*Note*: The Chairman of the People's Committee of the province or central-affiliated city will decide on the specific academic year plan for each locality.*

Pursuant to Section 4 of the general education program issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the educational plan for the 2024-2025 academic year regarding study time of students of levels in Vietnam is as follows:

The general education program is divided into two phases:

The fundamental education phase (from grade 1 to grade 9) and the vocational orientation education phase (from grade 10 to grade 12).

The curriculum and educational activities of the general education program include mandatory subjects, elective subjects according to vocational orientation (referred to as elective subjects), and optional subjects.

The actual study time in one academic year is equivalent to 35 weeks. Educational institutions may organize teaching sessions of 1 or 2 sessions per day.

Educational institutions organizing 1 or 2 sessions per day must implement a unified mandatory educational content across all educational institutions nationwide.

(1). Fundamental Education Phase

- Primary Level

Teaching is conducted in 2 sessions per day, with no more than 7 periods per day; each period lasts 35 minutes. Educational institutions not fully equipped to conduct 2 sessions per day follow the educational plan guided by the Ministry of Education and Training.

- Lower Secondary Level

One session per day, with no more than 5 periods per session; each period lasts 45 minutes. Schools with adequate facilities for 2 sessions per day are encouraged to implement this model according to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.

(2). Vocational Orientation Education Phase (High School Level)

One session per day, with no more than 5 periods per session; each period lasts 45 minutes. High schools with adequate facilities for 2 sessions per day are encouraged to implement this model according to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.
