General introduction to the field and occupation

The associate degree in industrial electronics is a field where professionals perform installation, maintenance, and operation of electrical, electronic devices, control devices of industrial systems, security monitoring systems, safety warning systems, industrial communication systems, solar power systems, meeting level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

Professionals in industrial electronics typically work in industrial environments such as factories, enterprises, export processing zones, high-rise buildings. Therefore, it requires the ability to work independently, organize teamwork, have professional ethics, an industrial working style, practice energy-saving, and environmental protection.

Minimum knowledge volume: 2,200 hours (equivalent to 79 credits).

Thus, students in the industrial electronics associate program are required to complete at least 2,200 hours (equivalent to 79 credits).

What are the skill requirements for students in the industrial electronics associate program in Vietnam?

Based on Subsection 3, Section A, Part 14 of the Regulations promulgated with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the skill requirements for students in the industrial electronics associate program are as follows:

- Proficiency in using equipment ensuring occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and fire prevention in industrial electronics;

- Ability to read technical drawings in the field of industrial electronics (detailed drawings, assembly diagrams, schematic diagrams);

- Capability to operate electrical, electronic devices in industrial production lines;

- Installation and connection of electronic devices in industrial production lines;

- Maintenance and repair of electronic devices as required;

- Design and implementation of replacement circuits, application circuits;

- Programming microcontrollers, PLCs in specific applications;

- Utilize specialized software in industrial electronics;

- Connect wired and wireless communication devices, Modbus networks, AS-i networks, Industrial Ethernet networks;

- Diagnose and handle common industrial communication network issues;

- Maintain industrial robots;

- Basic use of information technology as stipulated; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work in the field;

- Use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 2/6 in the Vietnam foreign language proficiency framework; apply foreign language skills to professional work in the field.

- Analyzing damage phenomena in the field of industrial electronics;

- Analyzing structures, working principles, properties, applications, and technical specifications of electronic components, power electronics;

- Explaining the operation principles of analog, digital components and devices;

- Explaining the operation principles of common electrical circuits;

- Analyzing basic programs for PLC, microcontrollers;

- Analyzing electrical, electronic circuit diagrams, construction plans, and assembly drawings of devices;

- Presenting the construction process of printed circuit boards from schematic diagrams;

- Presenting the structure, working principle of industrial production lines;

- Analyzing the operating principles of electrical circuits, electronic devices for designing, testing, repairing;

- Understanding design methods for electrical circuits, application electronic circuits meeting job requirements;

- Highlighting the significance of Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 in the field of industrial electronics;

- Presenting basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense security, physical education as stipulated.
