According to subsection 5, Section A, Part 4 of the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels for electrical, electronics, and telecommunications technical fields (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations) issued together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, college students majoring in industrial electricity can work in the following positions:

- Installation of construction electrical systems;

- Operation and maintenance of construction electrical systems;

- Installation and operation of power supply systems;

- Maintenance of power supply systems;

- Installation of electrical cabinets;

- Repair, maintenance, and operation of electrical machines;

- Installation of automation systems;

- Operation and maintenance of automation systems;

- Installation of renewable energy electrical systems;

- Operation, maintenance, and repair of renewable energy electrical systems;

- Installation of tool machine circuits;

- Repair and maintenance of tool machine circuits;

- Product quality control (KCS);

- Business of electrical equipment.

What skills should Industrial Electrical College students in Vietnam have after graduation?

According to subsection 3, Section A, Part 4 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, college students majoring in industrial electricity should have the following skills after graduation:

- Read electrical symbols on drawings;

- Calculate parameters and wind small power transformers according to requirements;

- Proficiently install systems for safety protection in industry and civil fields;

- Identify, select, and use common electrical materials according to Vietnamese standards and IEC standards;

- Organize labor safety, industrial hygiene, and provide correct first aid for electric shock victims;

- Identify and classify basic electrical materials, electrical apparatus, and electrical equipment;

- Select basic electrical materials, electrical apparatus, and electrical equipment;

- Assemble basic electrical materials and apparatus;

- Measure basic parameters and quantities of electrical circuits;

- Calculate technical parameters in direct current, alternating current, and three-phase alternating current circuits in both steady-state and transient conditions;

- Draw and analyze the winding diagram of single-phase and three-phase asynchronous motors;

- Calculate and rewind failed single-phase and three-phase motors based on existing data;

- Calculate parameters and complete the winding of small power transformers according to requirements;

- Install, operate, maintain, and repair electrical machinery according to requirements;

- Disassemble and repair electrical apparatus according to the manufacturer's specifications;

- Identify and repair damages in household electrical appliances according to the manufacturer's standards;

- Install household lighting systems according to design drawings;

- Build and control ISO process systems in factories or workshops;

- Assemble, repair, and install start and stop circuits for three-phase, single-phase, and direct current motors;

- Assemble protection and signal circuits;

- Assemble and repair electrical circuits for metal-cutting machines such as drilling, turning, milling, planing, grinding machines, and production machines like cranes, elevators, electric furnaces;

- Assemble and install sensor circuitry;

- Repair and replace sensor circuitry;

- Calculate and select wiring systems suitable for workplace conditions and intended uses in buildings, workshops, or factories;

- Calculate and select grounding and lightning protection systems for power supply lines and structures according to TCVN and IEC electrical standards;

- Install power supply lines for buildings and workshops according to requirements and standards;

- Select suitable electric motors for non-regulated and regulated electrical drives;

- Identify schematic components on electrical circuit diagrams and in practice. Draw and analyze basic electrical circuit diagrams employing electronic components;

- Proficiently use measuring equipment to measure and inspect electronic components, circuit elements, and electrical circuit parameters;

- Solder and disassemble electronic circuits proficiently;

- Check the quality of power electronic components during maintenance and replacement of basic power electronic components;

- Proficiently connect PLC with PC and peripheral devices;

- Write programs for different PLC types to meet technical requirements;

- Assemble and repair pneumatic control circuits in industry, such as product sorting lines and lifting systems;

- Operate circuits according to defined principles and procedures;

- Develop reasonable maintenance plans ensuring safety and industrial hygiene;

- Design SCADA applications in industrial control systems;

- Program and monitor industrial control systems;

- Disassemble and install sensors and elements in automation systems, replacing and calibrating components;

- Use basic information technology according to regulations; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work in the discipline or profession;

- Use basic foreign language skills, reaching level 2/6 in the Vietnamese language competency framework; apply foreign language skills in professional work in the discipline or profession.

What knowledge should Industrial Electrical College students in Vietnam have after graduation?

According to subsection 2, Section A, Part 4 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, college students majoring in industrial electricity should possess the following knowledge after graduation:

- Explain labor safety standards, electrical safety for people and equipment;

- Explain the structure, working principles, properties, and applications of electrical equipment, electrical apparatus, and electrical materials;

- Explain methods for measuring basic quantities and parameters of electrical circuits;

- State basic concepts, laws, and theorems in direct current, alternating current, and three-phase alternating current circuits;

- Analyze conventional symbols on electrical drawings;

- Describe the structure and working principles of electrical machines;

- State the technical standards for common electrical material groups according to Vietnamese standards and IEC standards;

- State concepts about ISO 9001:2015 standards;

- Explain methods for calculating parameters and complete the winding of small power transformers according to requirements;

- Analyze circuit diagrams of electrical systems in machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, planers, and production machines like conveyors, cranes, elevators, electric furnaces;

- Analyze sensor principles and sensor circuit diagrams;

- State principles of power supply and transmission systems;

- Identify electrical mechanical equipment in electrical drive systems;

- Explain principles and speed control methods for electrical drive systems;

- Analyze structure and principles of some typical equipment like soft starters, inverters, and converters;

- Explain the structure, symbols, properties, and applications of passive components;

- Explain the structure, symbols, properties, and applications of semiconductors, and connecting methods in electrical circuits, and how to determine component technical parameters;

- Explain the structure of simple electronic circuits using electronic components and their working principles;

- Describe how to use measuring devices and soldering equipment;

- Explain the structure and working principles of power electronic components;

- Explain maintenance and replacement procedures for power electronic components meeting technical standards;

- Explain the structure and working principles of PLC control systems from different manufacturers;

- Explain the structure and working principles of SCADA (Supervision Control And Data Acquisition) systems in industry;

- Compare the advantages and disadvantages of PLC controllers with other systems;

- Describe the main structures of control systems: languages, links, and timing of different PLC types;

- Analyze principles and structures of electrical-pneumatic control systems;

- State concepts and classifications of industrial communication networks;

- Explain the basic content of communication technology basics: Transmission modes, network structures, protocol architecture, bus access, data security, bit coding, transmission techniques;

- Explain the basic components of network systems;

- Explain the basic structural characteristics of some common bus systems: Profibus, CAN, Modbus, Interbus, AS-i, Ethernet;

- Analyze types of design and installation drawings of electrical systems;

- Explain basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense, security, and physical education as required.
