- Beverage mixer;
- Beverage server;
- Mixing and serving beverages at the bar counter;
- Serving beer and various types of alcohol;
- Bar supervisor;
- Drink establishment supervisor;
- Bar manager;
- Drink establishment manager.

What are regulations on the college-level barista program in Vietnam?
Based on Subsection 1, Section A, Part 10 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 55/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the college-level barista program is described as follows:
Barista at the college level is a profession directly involved in mixing and serving various types of drinks in food and beverage establishments with basic tasks such as: preparing the workstation at the start of the shift, mixing refreshing coffee types, mixing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, in addition to serving food and drinks, meeting the level 5 requirements in Vietnam's National Qualification Framework.
The tasks of the profession are primarily performed in the mixing area and serving area, requiring high standards of quality and food safety and hygiene concerning working conditions and environment. To carry out the tasks of the profession, it is necessary to be equipped with all the essential equipment for the mixing and serving process.
In the job, one can work independently or in a team depending on the specific job requirements as well as the business establishment.
To practice the profession, workers must meet health requirements, have an appropriate appearance, possess sufficient knowledge and professional understanding, have communication skills for serving, demonstrate professional ethics, and have the ability to organize and perform tasks.
Minimum knowledge volume: 1800 hours (equivalent to 65 credits).
What are the skill requirements for college students majoring in barista after graduation in Vietnam?
Based on Subsection 3 of Section A, Part 10 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 55/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, college students majoring in barista after graduation must meet the following skill requirements:
- Arrange bar equipment and tools logically, neatly, conveniently, and safely for work;
- Use bar equipment and tools correctly and safely;
- Arrange and display drinks and mixing ingredients;
- Mix and serve non-alcoholic beverages according to technical and aesthetic standards;
- Classify and identify types of alcohol through color and taste;
- Mix and serve alcoholic beverages according to the correct measurements, ensuring technical and aesthetic standards;
- Carry out the process of mixing and serving drinks to customers according to standards, ensuring safety;
- Perform the cleaning and maintenance process of bar equipment and tools according to technical standards;
- Use mixing ingredients logically and economically;
- Ensure hygiene, safety, security, and environmental protection to meet needs;
- Follow labor safety principles, handle, and prevent fires and explosions during the mixing and serving process;
- Independently perform tasks within the trained work scope and defined responsibility;
- Resolve arising situations during the mixing and serving process for customers;
- Manage and supervise standards and processes for mixing and serving;
- Manage the human resources of the Beverage Mixing department;
- Manage and supervise the material supplies of the Beverage Mixing department;
- Manage the quality standards of the Beverage Mixing department;
- Efficiently manage and supervise employee working hours;
- Check, supervise, and instruct technical aspects to direct and indirect staff within training scope limits;
- Organize, manage, and maintain production and business operations at the bar and drink establishment;
- Develop appropriate drink menus for specific customer groups;
- Coordinate well with other departments during customer service;
- Participate in building some plans of departments or overall plans in the restaurant department such as marketing plans, human resource plans, equipment purchase plans, service event plans;
- Draft reports, prepare common documents, and draft some contracts like catering service contracts for customers;
- Evaluate the business performance results of the Beverage Mixing and Serving department to propose solutions to improve business efficiency;
- Use basic information technology as prescribed; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work of the sector, profession.
