The tuition revenues from the beginning of the school year for students at all levels for the 2024-2025 academic year include:

(1) Tuition: In accordance with the regulations in Decree 81/2021/ND-CP of the Government of Vietnam.

Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 3 of Decree 81/2021/ND-CP, tuitions are amounts that students must pay to cover part or all of the cost of educational services.

The provincial People's Committee presents to the provincial People's Council for decision on the specific tuition rate but not exceeding the prescribed ceiling rate.

The provincial People's Council will specify the annual tuition rate in accordance with the actual conditions of each locality as stipulated in Article 9 of Decree 81/2021/ND-CP.

(2) Health Insurance:

Based on Article 7 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP, the health insurance premium for students is 4.5% multiplied by the statutory pay rate multiplied by the number of months participating corresponding to the usage duration of the Health Insurance card (the current statutory pay rate is 2,340,000 VND).

According to Article 8 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP, students are entitled to support of at least 30% of the health insurance premium.

Annual Health Insurance premium = 4.5% x 2,340,000 x 12 x up to 70%

Thus, the maximum health insurance premium for students for one year (12 months) is 884,520 VND.

(3) Uniforms, Sports Clothes, and Badges:

As stipulated in Article 9 of Circular 26/2009/TT-BGDDT, the funds for tailoring, purchasing, renting, or borrowing uniforms and ceremonial attire are derived from the school's regular budget, student contributions, or other lawful sources and must be publicly disclosed in terms of collection and expenditure.

Funds for uniforms, sports clothes, and badges can also be collected at the beginning of the school year, with the fee set according to each school's regulations.

(4) Other Mandatory Fees

Separate fees based on agreements between the school and parents in each locality or as per decrees of the provincial/municipal People's Councils will be applied accordingly, including:

- Meal fees, boarding care, equipment for boarding service;- Full-day school (2 sessions/day);- Class funds;- Educational materials for preschool children;- Drinking water for students;- Extra classes and supplementary lessons in school, etc.

(5) Donations (VOLUNTARY)

According to the provisions of Article 2, Article 3 of Circular 16/2018/TT-BGDDT, educational institutions may mobilize and accept donations to fulfill the following purposes:

- Equipments and tools for teaching and learning; research facilities; renovate, repair, and construct infrastructure to support educational activities at the institution;- Support educational, training, and research activities within the institution.

Mobilization, acceptance, management, and use of donations must be publicly announced and listed at the receiving educational institution and comply with the current laws.

- Lower Secondary Level

Mandatory subjects and educational activities: Literature; Mathematics; Foreign Language 1; Civic Education; History and Geography; Natural Sciences; Technology; Informatics; Physical Education; Arts (Music, Fine Arts); Experiential Activities, Career Orientation; Local Education Content.

- Upper Secondary Level

Mandatory subjects and educational activities: Literature; Mathematics; Foreign Language 1; History; Physical Education; National Defense and Security Education; Experiential Activities, Career Orientation; Local Education Content.

What are the age requirements for students at all levels in Vietnam?

According to Clause 1, Article 28 of Education Law 2019, the age requirements for each educational level are specified as follows:

Educational Levels and Age Requirements for General Education

1. The educational levels and age requirements for general education are as follows:

a) Primary education is implemented over 5 academic years, from grade one to the end of grade five. Students entering grade one must be 6 years old and calculated by the year;

b) Lower secondary education is implemented over 4 academic years, from grade six to the end of grade nine. Students entering grade six must have completed the primary education program. Students entering grade six must be 11 years old and calculated by the year;

c) Upper secondary education is implemented over 3 academic years, from grade ten to the end of grade twelve. Students entering grade ten must have a lower secondary school diploma. Students entering grade ten must be 15 years old and calculated by the year.

2. Students can skip grades or study at an older age than prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article in the following cases:

a) Students skip grades due to early intellectual development;

b) Students study at an older age due to being held back, being in economically and socially disadvantaged areas, being ethnic minorities, being disabled, being physically or intellectually underdeveloped, being orphans with no support, being from poor households, returning from abroad, and other cases as prescribed by law.
