Health Standards for New Admissions to Public Security Schools in Vietnam
According to Clause 2, Article 4 of Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA, the health standards for new admissions to Public Security Schools are as follows:
- Having Health Type 1, Type 2;
- Height from 1.64m to 1.95m for males, from 1.58m to 1.80m for females, except for specific cases where the height standard can be reduced as per Clause 2, Clause 3, Article 4 of Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA;
- Vision without glasses for each eye must be 09-10/10, and the total vision of both eyes must be 18/10 or higher.
If the eyes have refractive errors such as myopia or hyperopia, each eye must not exceed 03 diopters; in case of astigmatism, it should be physiological astigmatism or less than 01 diopter per eye; vision through glasses for one eye must reach at least 09/10, and the total vision of both eyes through glasses must be 19/10 or higher (a commitment must be made to maintain the vision standards as per regulations if successfully admitted into the People's Police force or transferred to professional service within the People's Police), except as specified in point b, Clause 3, Article 4 of Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA;
- Not addicted to drugs or precursors as specified in Decree 57/2022/ND-CP;
- Normal hair color and type (according to the People's Police regulations);
- No skin pigmentation disorders, except for localized melasma on the cheeks;
- No piercings on the nose or other body parts for jewelry. For males, no ear piercings or ear piercings that have healed with scars; for females, no more than 02 piercings in one ear or only one ear piercing, with other ear piercings healed into scars;
- No keloid scars on the head, face, neck, forearm, hand, or foot;
- No tattoos or body art, except for eyebrow or cosmetic lip tattoos for females.
- Citizens applying to People's Public Security Schools who are conscripted soldiers serving in the People's Police: Height standards are applied based on the standards at the time of conscription for the People's Police;
- Citizens applying to People's Public Security Schools who belong to ethnic minorities: Height from 1.62m to 1.95m for males, from 1.56m to 1.80m for females.
Citizens belonging to Policy Priority Group 01 (UT1) in Appendix 2 of Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT (Download): Height from 1.60m to 1.95m for males, 1.55m to 1.80m for females;
- Citizens applying to People's Public Security Schools who hold a university degree from domestic or foreign universities: Graduates of natural sciences, engineering, computer science, and information technology are subject to height standards from 1.62m to 1.95m for males, 1.56m to 1.80m for females;
- Citizens applying for high school cultural education are subject to straight admission and special consideration: Height from 1.55m for males, from 1.50m for females;
- Citizens with multiple priority categories are only entitled to the highest priority category.

Health Examination Content for New Admissions to Vietnam People's Public Security Schools
According to Clause 1, Article 8 of Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA, the health examination content for new admissions to Vietnam People's Public Security Schools is as follows:
- Physical examination, clinical examination according to the criteria specified in Appendix 1 issued with Circular 62/2023/TT-BCA;

- Paraclinical examination:
Blood tests: Blood count; blood group, glucose, AST, ALT, urea, creatinine, HIV, HBsAg, anti-HCV; urine tests including urinalysis, drugs and precursors; chest X-ray; abdominal ultrasound; electrocardiogram.
If necessary, other paraclinical examinations may be prescribed to assist in health conclusions as required by the Council or Health Examination Committee.
Principles for Admission to Vietnam People's Public Security Schools
According to Article 2 of Circular 15/2016/TT-BCA, the principles for admission to Vietnam People's Public Security Schools are as follows:
- Admission to People's Public Security Schools must be based on the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Public Security; the requirements of work, combat, and the construction of the People's Police force; linking staff planning with training planning to meet the required proficiency standards for positions that each officer is or will be undertaking after graduation; ensuring quality, quantity; implementing democracy, fairness, publicity, and transparency.
- Admission to People's Public Security Schools is carried out based on a combination of assessments of political standards, moral qualities, academic performance, health, and talents of candidates as per the specific regulations of the Ministry of Public Security in conjunction with the results of exams, selections, and assessments in accordance with the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security.
