What are the forms of preschool pedagogical college training in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 4 of the College Level Training Regulations for Preschool Education issued together with Circular 07/2023/TT-BGDDT, the form of training is as follows:
Forms of training
- Formal education
a) Teaching activities are carried out at the training institution, except for practical activities, internships, real-world experiences, and online teaching which can be conducted outside the training institution;
b) The time for organizing teaching activities is from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekdays from Monday to Saturday; the time for organizing specific activities of the training program is carried out according to the regulations of the training institution.
- Part-time education
a) Teaching activities are carried out at the training institution or at the cooperating training institution according to the training linkage regulations in Article 5 of these Regulations, with practical activities, internships, real-world experiences, and online teaching being conducted outside the training institution and the cooperating training institution;
b) The time for organizing teaching activities is flexible throughout the day and week.
Thus, there are two forms of preschool pedagogical college training in Vietnam including:
- Formal education, where teaching activities are conducted at the training institution, except for practical activities, internships, real-world experiences, and online teaching which can be conducted outside the training institution;
- Part-time education, where teaching activities can be carried out at the training institution or at the cooperating training institution according to the training linkage regulations.
Practical activities, internships, real-world experiences, and online teaching can be conducted outside the training institution and the cooperating training institution.

Methods of training
- Annual system training
a) This is the method of training through relatively fixed classes for all compulsory modules of the training program throughout the course, allowing students of the same class to follow a standard study plan and schedule except for elective or retaken modules;
b) Students assessed as having normal study progress will continue to the next academic year according to the standard study plan and register for retaking the failed modules as prescribed in the training program;
c) Students assessed as not achieving normal study progress will have to study with students from subsequent intakes to retake the failed modules according to the training program’s regulations.
- Credit system training
a) This is the method of organizing training through individual course modules, allowing students to accumulate credits for each module and carry out the training program according to personal study plans in line with the teaching plan of the training institution;
b) Students who fail a compulsory module must retake that module or take an equivalent module as prescribed in the training program or take a substitute module if the original module is no longer offered;
c) Students who fail an elective module must retake that module or may choose another elective module as prescribed in the training program.

Are final-year preschool college students in Vietnam considered for transfer to another training institution?
Pursuant to Article 16 of the College Level Training Regulations for Preschool Education issued together with Circular 07/2023/TT-BGDDT, the transfer from one training institution to another, and the transfer of study forms are as follows:
Transfer of training institution, transfer of study forms
1. Students are considered for transfer to another training institution when they meet the following conditions:
a) Not being a first-year or final-year student, not under consideration for expulsion, and having sufficient remaining study time as stipulated in Clause 5, Article 2 of these Regulations;
b) Students meeting the admission requirements of the same program and field of study at the new institution for the same intake;
c) The new institution has sufficient quality assurance conditions and has not exceeded the training capacity for that program and field of study as per current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training;
d) Approval from the heads of both the current and the new training institutions.
- Students are considered for transfer from formal education to part-time education at the same training institution if they have sufficient remaining study time according to the receiving form’s regulations.
- The regulations of the training institution detail the authority, conditions, and procedures for transferring institutions or study forms; the recognition of study results or conversion of accumulated credits for students in these cases.
Thus, final-year preschool college students are not considered for transfer to another training institution.
