Who is eligible to apply for full-time higher education programs in police schools in Vietnam?
Based on Clause 1, Article 6 of Circular 15/2016/TT-BCA, the following groups are eligible to apply for full-time higher education programs in police schools:
- Police officers and soldiers on the official payroll who need to further their education and are nominated by their respective police units or local police authorities;
- Citizens performing their duty in the People's Police for at least 24 months by the time of application, who wish to further their education and are nominated by their respective police units or local police authorities;
- Students with permanent residence registration in the locality where they apply for preliminary screening, who are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam or members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union;
- Citizens who have completed their duty in the People's Police or the military no more than 12 months from the date of military discharge to the application date.
What are the conditions for applying to full-time higher education programs in police schools in Vietnam?
According to Clause 2, Article 6 of Circular 15/2016/TT-BCA, the conditions for candidates registering to apply to full-time higher education programs in police schools are as follows:
- Regarding academic qualifications:
+ Graduated from upper secondary school through formal education or continuing education. For those who graduated from intermediate school but do not have a upper secondary school diploma, they must have completed and been recognized for completing the cultural subjects in the upper secondary school curriculum as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training;
+ Students with permanent residence registration in the locality where they apply for preliminary screening, who are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam or members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union during upper secondary school, must have an average or above-average academic record (based on academic records).
- Regarding age:
+ For police officers and soldiers on the payroll, not exceeding 30 years old (by the year of application);
+ For students, not exceeding 20 years old; for ethnic minority students, not exceeding 22 years old (by the year of application).
- Regarding moral standards and political qualities:
+ Regarding moral standards:
++ For police officers and soldiers on the payroll who need to further their education and are nominated by their respective police units or local police authorities, they must not be under disciplinary action from reprimand or higher and not in the period of awaiting disciplinary review;
++ Students with permanent residence registration in the locality where they apply for preliminary screening, who are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam or members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union during upper secondary school or intermediate school, must have good conduct or higher; must not be married, must not have children (biological children).
For citizens performing their duty in the People's Police or who have completed their duty in the People's Police or military, they must have completed duties each year without disciplinary action from reprimand or higher during their service tenure.
+ Regarding political qualities: Ensure compliance with the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security for recruiting people into the People's Police force.
- Regarding health standards:
+ Must not have chronic diseases;
+ Must have a balanced physique and condition;
+ Must not have deformities;
+ For males, height must be 1.64 m or more and weight must be 48 kg or more;
+ For females, height must be 1.58 m or more and weight must be 45 kg or more;
+ For students in region 1 (including students eligible for priority admissions policy in region 1 or students who have had a permanent residence registration in region 1 for 5 years), or ethnic minority students, height and weight requirements are reduced by 2 cm and 2 kg respectively.
+ For citizens performing or who have completed their duty in the People's Police or military, height and weight standards follow the current regulations for health examination to recruit citizens to serve in the People's Police.
In cases where police units or localities have higher requirements for height and weight than common regulations, they must report to the Minister for a decision.

What are the principles for admissions to police schools in Vietnam?
Based on Article 2 of Circular 15/2016/TT-BCA, the principles for admissions to People's Police schools are as follows:
- Admissions to People's Police schools must be based on:
+ The current admissions regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, and the guidelines and regulations of the Ministry of Public Security;

- Admissions to People's Police schools are carried out based on a combination of evaluating political standards, moral qualities, academic ability, health, and aptitude of the candidate according to the specific provisions of the Ministry of Public Security, alongside the results of examination, selection, and consideration according to the admissions regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security.
