According to the provisions of Article 15 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT:

Commendation

  1. The principal awards certificates of commendation to students

a) End-of-year commendation

- Awarding the title "Excellent Student" to students who have achieved a yearly conduct evaluation of "Good", a yearly academic performance evaluation of "Good", and a yearly average score (ĐTBmcn) of 9.0 or higher in at least 6 subjects evaluated by a combination of comments and scores.

- Awarding the title "Good Student" to students who have achieved a yearly conduct evaluation of "Good" and a yearly academic performance evaluation of "Good".

b) Commending students with outstanding achievements in conduct and study during the school year.

  1. Students with special achievements are considered by the school for recommendation to higher authorities for commendation.

Thus, lower secondary school students are awarded certificates of commendation by the Principal in the following cases:

- Students attaining the title "Excellent Student" for the entire school year;

- Students attaining the title "Good Student" for the entire school year;

- Students with outstanding achievements in conduct and study during the school year.

Pursuant to Article 34 of the Middle School, High School, and General Education School Charter issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, lower secondary school students have the following duties:

- Perform studying and training duties according to the school's educational program and plan.- Respect parents, school officials, teachers, staff, and elders; show solidarity and help each other in studying and training; comply with the school's charter and rules; abide by State laws.- Exercise, maintain personal hygiene.- Participate in school, class, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union collective activities; help family, participate in labor, social activities, environmental protection activities, and ensure traffic safety.- Preserve and protect school property, common property; contribute to building, protecting, and promoting school traditions.

* Rights

Pursuant to Article 35 of the Middle School, High School, and General Education School Charter issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, lower secondary school students have the following rights:

- Be equal in enjoying comprehensive education, guaranteed conditions of time, facilities, hygiene, and safety to study in class and self-study at home, provided with information about their study and training, and use equipment and facilities for educational, cultural, and sports activities as per regulations.- Be respected and protected, treated equally and democratically, have the right to complain to the school and education management levels about decisions involving themselves; have the right to transfer schools for legitimate reasons as per current regulations; study ahead of time, skip grades, study at an older age as specified in Article 33 of this Charter.- Participate in activities to develop talents in subjects, sports, and arts organized by the school if conditions are met.- Receive scholarships or other assistance according to regulations for socially-focused students, financially struggling students, and students with special talents.- Transfer schools if eligible according to regulations; the transfer procedure follows the Minister of Education and Training's regulations.- Enjoy other rights as prescribed by law.

How are lower secondary school students in Vietnam commended and disciplined?

Pursuant to Article 38 of the Middle School, High School, and General Education School Charter issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, commendation and discipline for lower secondary school students are as follows:

- Students with academic and training achievements are commended by teachers, the school, and education management levels in the following forms:

+ Praise in front of the class or the whole school.+ Awarding student titles according to regulations.+ Issuing certificates, commendations, and awards for outstanding or significantly improved achievements in certain study areas, competition movements, achievements in contests, and competitions permitted by the Ministry of Education and Training.+ Other forms of commendation.

- Students who commit mistakes in their study and training process are educated or disciplined in the following forms:

+ Reminder, direct support, and assistance to help students overcome their mistakes.+ Reprimand, notify parents to coordinate assistance in overcoming mistakes.+ Temporary suspension from school with a set time and implement other educational measures according to the Ministry of Education and Training's regulations.
