What are evaluation criteria for lower lower secondary school students' performance in Vietnam?
Based on Clause 2, Article 8 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT, the evaluation of the training results of students in each semester and throughout the academic year, the training results of students in each semester and the entire academic year are evaluated according to one of four levels: Good, Fair, Satisfactory, Not satisfactory. Specifically:
- Training results of students in each semester:
+ Good Level: Well meets the required qualities specified in the general education program and has many outstanding expressions.
+ Fair Level: Meets the required qualities specified in the general education program and has outstanding expressions but does not reach the Good level.
+ Satisfactory Level: Meets the required qualities specified in the general education program.
+ Not satisfactory Level: Does not meet the required qualities specified in the general education program.
- Training results of students for the entire academic year:
+ Good Level: Semester II is evaluated as Good, Semester I is evaluated from Fair or above.
+ Fair Level: Semester II is evaluated as Fair, Semester I is evaluated from Satisfactory or above; Semester II is evaluated as Satisfactory, Semester I is evaluated as Good; Semester II is evaluated as Good, Semester I is evaluated as Satisfactory or Not satisfactory.

What are regulations on awards for lower secondary school students in Vietnam?
According to the provisions of Article 15 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDDT detailing the awrds for lower secondary school students:
Awards
- The principal awards certificates to students
a) Year-end awards
- Awarding the title "Outstanding Student" to students whose annual training results are evaluated as Good, academic results for the year are evaluated as Good, and who have at least six subjects evaluated with both commentary and a score-based evaluation with average score reaching 9.0 points or higher.
- Awarding the title "Excellent Student" to students whose annual training results are evaluated as Good and academic results for the year are evaluated as Good.
b) Awarding students with sudden achievements in training and study during the school year.
- Students with outstanding achievements are considered by the school for recommendation to higher authorities for award.
Therefore, lower secondary school students are awarded at the end of the year with two titles: Outstanding Student and Excellent Student. Additionally, students with special achievements are considered by the school for recommendation to higher authorities for award.
