Content and Assessment Method
1. Assessment Content
a) Evaluate the learning process, progress, and results of the learners to meet the required outcomes and specific manifestations of the competence components of each subject in the Literacy Eradication Program.
b) Evaluate the formation and development of learners' qualities and competence through the main qualities and core competencies stipulated in the Literacy Eradication Program.
2. assessment Method
a) assessment by comments
- Teachers observe learners during classroom instruction and document their behaviors to use as evidence for evaluating the learning and training process of the learners;
- Teachers provide comments and assessments on learners' products and activity results to evaluate the learners according to each relevant assessment content;
- Teachers interact with learners through Q&A sessions to gather information to provide prompt comments and assistance;
- Teachers comment on learners' self-assessment using spoken or written forms, and peer assessment within groups regarding their task performance in learning and training.
b) assessment by scores: Teachers use test papers consisting of questions and exercises designed according to the levels and required outcomes of the Literacy Eradication Program, in the forms of multiple-choice, essay, or a combination of both, to evaluate the extent of learners' achievement in the educational contents that need to be evaluated.
Thus, according to the above regulation, the scoring assessment method in the Literacy Eradication Program is as follows: Teachers use test papers consisting of questions and exercises designed according to the levels and required outcomes of the Literacy Eradication Program, in the forms of multiple-choice, essay, or a combination of both, to evaluate the extent of learners' achievement in the educational contents that need to be evaluated.

Periodic assessment is the activity of assessing learners' educational results over a period to determine the extent to which they have completed their learning and training tasks according to the required outcomes of each subject stipulated in the Literacy Eradication Program, and the formation and development of the learners' qualities and competence.

What are procedures for the periodic assessment of subjects the Literacy Eradication Program in Vietnam?
Based on Clause 1, Article 7 of Circular 10/2022/TT-BGDDT, the procedures for the periodic assessment of subjects the Literacy Eradication Program in Vietnam are as follows:
[1] Assessment through periodic tests
- In each semester, each subject has four (04) periodic tests at times appropriate to the program's implementation schedule, including three (03) tests during the semester and one (01) final-semester test. The final-semester test score is weighted by a factor of 2, while the intra-semester test scores are weighted by a factor of 1;
- Each subject's test paper is based on the required outcomes stipulated in the Literacy Eradication Program. Periodic assessment is not conducted for learning module clusters;
- For the subjects Vietnamese and Mathematics, the periodic test duration is 70 minutes. For other subjects, the test duration is 35 minutes;
- Test papers are graded on a scale of 10. The test score is an integer or a decimal rounded to the nearest tenth;
- Learners who miss a periodic test will be given a make-up test. Make-up tests are conducted within each semester. Learners who do not participate in the make-up test will receive a score of 0 (zero) for the missed test.
[2] At the end of each semester, teachers evaluate learners for each subject based on continuous assessments, required outcomes, and specific manifestations of the competence components of each subject according to the following levels:
- Good: Meets learning requirements well and frequently shows specific manifestations of the subject's competence components;
- Satisfactory: Meets learning requirements and shows specific manifestations of the subject's competence components;
- Not satisfactory: Fails to meet some learning requirements or lacks specific manifestations of the subject's competence components.
Additionally, apart from the periodic subject assessment in the Literacy Eradication Program, there is also periodic assessment of the formation and development of qualities and competence, as follows:
At the end of each semester, teachers evaluate the formation and development of each learner's main qualities and core competence through continuous assessment comments and observable behaviors, according to the following levels:
- Good: Meets educational requirements well, clearly and frequently shows specific behaviors;
- Satisfactory: Meets educational requirements, clearly shows specific behaviors, but not frequently;
- Needs improvement: Does not meet educational requirements, and the behaviors are not clearly observable.
