Are female students in Vietnam entitled to a day off on October 20?
Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulates holidays as follows:
Holidays
- Employees are entitled to take a day off with full pay on the following holidays:
a) New Year's Day: 1 day (January 1 according to the solar calendar);
b) Lunar New Year: 5 days;
c) Victory Day: 1 day (April 30 according to the solar calendar);
d) International Labor Day: 1 day (May 1 according to the solar calendar);
dd) National Day: 2 days (September 2 according to the solar calendar and 1 contiguous day before or after);
e) Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 1 day (March 10 according to the lunar calendar).
- Foreign workers working in Vietnam, in addition to the days off specified in Clause 1 of this Article, are also entitled to take one additional day off for their traditional Tet and one day for their national day.
- Annually, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister of Vietnam decides specific days off as prescribed at Points b and đ of Clause 1 of this Article.
According to the above regulation, October 20 is not a public holiday, so students do not get a day off, including female students.

- Participate in collective activities of the school, class, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; help families, engage in work and social activities, environmental conservation activities, and maintain traffic safety order.
- Preserve and protect school and public property; contribute to building, protecting, and promoting the school's traditions.
Thus, students have 5 duties:

(ii) Respect parents, school staff, teachers, and elders; unite and assist each other in learning and training; adhere to school regulations and rules; comply with state laws.
