What are prohibited actions for lower secondary school teachers in Vietnam?

Based on Article 31 of the Regulation on lower secondary schools, lower secondary schools, and multi-level schools issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, the following actions are prohibited for lower secondary school teachers:

- Insulting the dignity and honor; infringing upon the physical integrity of students and colleagues.

- Cheating in exams, tests, admissions; cheating in evaluating students' learning and behavior; skipping classes or sessions, arbitrarily cutting content in teaching and education.

- Distorting teaching content; teaching incorrect knowledge against the views and educational lines of the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam.

- Coercing students into extra classes for money; exploiting sponsorships and contributions for education for personal gain.

- Smoking, drinking alcohol, beer, and using other stimulants while participating in teaching and educational activities.

- Obstructing or causing difficulties in supporting, serving teaching and educational work for students and other duties.

What are the duties of a lower secondary school teacher in Vietnam?

According to Article 27 of the Regulation on lower secondary schools, lower secondary schools, and multi-level schools issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, lower secondary school teachers have the following duties:

- Implement the tasks of organizing teaching and educational activities according to the school's educational plan and the professional group’s educational plan; manage students in educational activities organized by the school; participate in professional activities; be accountable for the quality and effectiveness of education.

- Cultivate ethics, uphold the spirit of responsibility, maintain the quality, honor, and prestige of the teacher; set an example for students; love, treat fairly and respect students’ personalities; protect students' legitimate rights and interests; unite and assist colleagues.

- Study and train to improve health, political qualifications, professional proficiency, innovation in teaching and educational methods.

- Participate in professional training and development.

- Engage in secondary education universalization in the locality.

- Fulfill civic duties, comply with legal regulations and education industry standards, follow the decisions of the principal; undertake missions assigned by the principal, subject to inspection and evaluation by the principal and educational management levels.

- Collaborate with the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Youth Federation, student families, and related social organizations to organize educational activities.

- Perform other duties in accordance with the law.
