WeChoice Awards with the theme "My Vietnam," is an annual award organized by VCCorp Joint Stock Company, aimed at honoring people, events, products, and works with a positive impact on the community, as well as sharing the most inspiring stories of the past year.

The guidelines for voting for WeChoice Awards 2024 in Vietnam include the following steps:

Step 1: On the Homepage, click on the three horizontal bars icon at the top right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Log in using Facebook or Google > Check "I’m not a robot" > Click "Confirm" > Choose the Facebook or Google account to log in to the Voting Portal.

Step 3: Click again on the three horizontal bars icon on the homepage to enter the Award Category page > Choose the category you wish to vote for.

Step 4: Voting Rules:

- Voting period: From December 25, 2024, to 12:00, January 12, 2025

- Readers must verify their accounts and log in using Facebook/Google. For each nomination, readers can vote a maximum of 24 times/day (Each vote at an hour apart). One account can vote for multiple nominations in different categories.

- The Program’s rules may be amended, supplemented without prior notice and are effective from the moment they are updated by the Organizing Committee (OC) on the website wechoice.vn.

Do upper secondary students in Vietnam have the right to access information?​

Based on Article 25 of the Constitution in 2013:

Article 25.

Citizens have the right to freedom of speech, freedom of the press, access to information, assembly, association, and demonstration. The exercise of these rights is prescribed by law.

Therefore, based on the above provisions, upper secondary students have the right to access information and also have the right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press as prescribed by law.

What is the legal age for upper secondary students in Vietnam this year?

Based on Article 28 of the Education Law 2019:

Grade levels and ages of general education

1. The grades and ages of general education are specified as follows:

a) Primary education is conducted over 5 school years, from grade one to the end of grade five. The age for entering grade one is 6 years old and is calculated annually;

b) Lower secondary education is conducted over 4 school years, from grade six to the end of grade nine. Students entering grade six must have completed the primary education program. The age for entering grade six is 11 years old and is calculated annually;

c) Upper secondary education is conducted over 3 school years, from grade ten to the end of grade twelve. Students entering grade ten must have a lower secondary education diploma. The age for entering grade ten is 15 years old and is calculated annually.

2. In cases where students advance grades, study at an age higher than the age specified in clause 1 of this Article, it includes:

a) Students advancing grades in case of early intellectual development;

Based on Article 33 of the Regulation issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, the age of secondary school students is specified as follows:

Age of secondary school students

1. The age of students entering grade 6 is 11 years old. The age of students entering grade 10 is 15 years old. For students advancing grades at previous levels or entering a level at an age higher than the prescribed age, the entry age for grade 6 and grade 10 is reduced or increased based on the age of graduation from the previous level.

2. Students who are ethnic minorities, disabled, in exceptionally difficult circumstances, or returning from abroad may enter higher levels at an age 3 years older than the prescribed age.

3. Students may not be retained more than 3 times at one education level.

4. Students with good physical and early intellectual development may enter school early or advance grades within the education level. Each specific case is considered in the following steps:

a) Parents or guardians submit a request to the school.

b) The principal establishes a Survey and Advisory Council composed of: representatives of school leadership and the school parents' representative committee, and the teacher instructing the student.

Therefore, according to the above regulations, upper secondary students this year are aged from 15 to 17 years old (grades 10 to 12).
