What are guidelines for completing the résumé when preparing enrollment documents in Vietnam for 2024-2025?

The résumé is an indispensable document in the enrollment file for students entering university for the school year 2024-2025.

Guidelines for filling out the résumé for new students:

PAGE 1: COVER PAGE - STUDENT RÉSUMÉ

- FULL NAME: Write in capital letters with diacritics.

- Date of Birth: Write your birth date.

- Permanent Address: Home address as per the household registration.

- Emergency Contact: In this section, you should include the name of your father or mother along with the home address.

- Contact Phone: Provide the phone number of your father/mother or yourself.

PAGE 2: SECTION FOR STUDENT DETAILS

- Students must attach a 4x6 photo (recently taken, not older than 3 months) in the upper left corner, which will be stamped by local authorities.

- Full Name: Write in capital letters with diacritics.

- Date of Birth: Write your birth date.

- Gender: Specify Male/Female.

- Ethnicity: Indicate your ethnicity.

- Religion: Indicate your religion. If you do not belong to any religion, write 'none' and do not leave it blank.

- Permanent Address: Provide the exact address of your permanent residence, including house number, village, commune, district, city, or province.

- Results of Final Year in High School: Fill in the academic results of your 12th grade. Clearly state your academic performance and conduct. Omit the graduation classification part because, since 2016, the Ministry of Education and Training has scrapped the graduation classification.

- Date of Joining HCM Youth Union: As per your membership records.

- Date of Joining Communist Party of Vietnam: As per your party membership records, if applicable. If not, leave it blank.

- Year of Graduation: The year you graduated from high school.

- Major: The major you have been admitted to.

- Student ID: As per the Enrollment Notice.

- Summary of Educational and Work History: Provide details of your primary, middle, and high school education history.

Example: For a student born in 2003

From 2009 – 2014: Student at [Name of School]

From 2014 – 2018: Student at [Name of School]

From 2018 – 2021: Student at [Name of School]

PAGE 3: FAMILY INFORMATION

- Father/Mother/Guardian: Student should provide full name, nationality, ethnicity, religion, permanent address, ID/CCID number, occupation, and contact phone number.

- Spouse: If applicable, provide full information. If not, omit this section.

- Siblings: Provide full names, occupations, and current locations of brothers and sisters if applicable. If not, omit this section.

PAGE 4: CONFIRMATION

- Family Declaration: The student should obtain their parent's (father, mother, or guardian) signature for confirmation.

- Student Signature: The student should sign in the bottom right corner.

- After completing all sections, the student must take the form to their local residential authority for verification, signature, and stamp.

According to Section I of Official Dispatch 1957/BGDDT-GDDH 2024:

I. For Candidates

9. From August 28, 2024, to December 2024, candidates wishing to apply for supplemental admissions to training institutions should follow the admissions plan posted on the training institution’s admissions website (if the training institution conducts supplemental admissions). Candidates who have been accepted and confirmed their enrollment are not eligible for supplemental admissions, except for cases where the head of the training institution permits not to enroll.

As stipulated, from August 28, 2024, to December 2024, candidates wishing to apply for university supplemental admissions should follow the admissions plan on the training institution's admissions website (if the training institution conducts supplemental admissions).

What documents are required for University enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year?

Currently, there is no specific regulation on the required documents for university enrollment. However, based on Article 21 of the Regulations issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT regarding university enrollment confirmation for 2024-2025:

Notification of Results and Enrollment Confirmation

1. Training institutions send admissions notices to selected candidates, clearly stating the necessary procedures for enrollment and the enrollment method.

2. Candidates confirm enrollment online before enrolling at the training institution.

3. For candidates who do not confirm enrollment within the prescribed period:

a) If there is no legitimate reason, such candidates are considered to have declined enrollment and the training institution has the right not to accept them;

b) In case of illness, accident, with hospital confirmation from the district level or higher, or natural disasters with confirmation from the People's Committee of the district level or higher, the training institution will decide on accepting such candidates or reserve their enrollment results for subsequent admission;

c) Any mistakes or misunderstandings caused by admissions staff or the candidate themselves require the training institution to cooperate with relevant individuals or organizations to examine evidence and decide on accepting or reserving the candidate's admission results for subsequent admission.

4. Candidates who have confirmed enrollment at one training institution are not eligible for admission at another institution or for subsequent supplemental admissions, except when permitted by the training institution.

As per the regulations, the university enrollment procedure will follow these steps:

- Step 1: Online enrollment confirmation.

- Step 2: Follow the necessary procedures for enrollment as mentioned in the admissions notice.

- Step 3: Prepare the required physical documents for submitting enrollment forms.

Thus, the university enrollment file is one of the necessary steps during the enrollment process and should be prepared according to the university’s announcement.

Some common documents that may be required for university enrollment include:

- Original admission notice.- Student résumé.- Temporary high school graduation certificate for those graduating in 2023 or original and certified copies of the high school diploma for those graduating before 2023.- Certified copy of the high school transcript and the original for comparison.- National ID or CCID (certified copy).- Youth Union membership book.- Copy of birth certificate.- Health examination certificate.- 3x4 ID photos (prepare at least 5 photos).- Files, certificates of priority policies.- Enrollment fees according to the university's announcement.- Certified copies of documents confirming special conditions (if any).- Military service registration certificate and confirmation of absence by the military command for male students (certified copy).

Candidates should prepare all the above documents to complete the enrollment procedure.

*Note: During the enrollment procedure at the university, candidates should also prepare tuition and living expenses as announced by the university.
