What are conditions for student research topics to be considered for the Science and Technology Award in Vietnam?
According to the provisions in Clause 2, Article 4 of the Regulation on considering the Science and Technology Award for young lecturers and students in higher education institutions issued together with Circular 45/2020/TT-BGDDT, student topics for the Science and Technology Award must meet the following conditions:
- Each topic is mainly conducted by one student, the number of participating members does not exceed 05 students, and there can be up to 02 instructors, among which 01 is the main instructor;
- The product of the topic must be published or applied in practice for at least one year from the time of submitting the application for the award. Forms of publication include:
+ Monographs, reference books licensed for publication.
+ Articles published in scientific journals.
+ Reports presented or published in the proceedings of domestic and international scientific conferences and seminars.
- Reports or displays, performances of the product at conferences, seminars, or seminars (seminars) from the departmental level or higher.
+ Applications in practice must be confirmed by the organizations or units using the products of the topic.
- The topic must be evaluated and selected by the higher education institution to be sent for consideration of the Award.
- The topic has not received or been sent to participate in any national-level Ministry or equivalent Award at the time of submitting the application.
- Dissertation or graduation projects cannot be submitted for consideration of the Award.

- Natural Sciences: Mathematics and statistics, Computer science and information, Data science and artificial intelligence, Physics, Chemistry, Earth science, Environmental science, Biology, and other natural sciences.
- Engineering and Technology Sciences: Civil engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics and telecommunications engineering, Information engineering, Mechanical engineering, machine manufacturing, dynamic mechanics, Chemical engineering, Materials science and metallurgy, Medical engineering, Environmental engineering, Environmental biotechnology, Industrial biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Food processing engineering, and beverages, and other engineering and technology sciences.
- Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences: Basic medicine, Clinical medicine, Pharmacy, Biotechnology in medicine, and other medical and pharmaceutical sciences.
- Agricultural Sciences: Cultivation, Animal husbandry, Veterinary, Forestry, Fisheries, Agricultural biotechnology, and other agricultural sciences.
- Social Sciences: Psychology, Economics and business, Educational science, Sociology, Law, Political science, Economic and social geography, Mass information and communication, and other social sciences.
- Humanities: History and archeology, Linguistics, literature and culture, Philosophy, Journalism and information, Ethics and religion, Arts, and other humanities.

Purpose and organization time of the Award
- Purpose of the Award
a) To commend outstanding achievements and encourage young lecturers and students to participate in scientific research and technology development, applying them to solve practical issues in life; contribute to improving the quality of education, socio-economic development, and nurturing young scientific talents in higher education institutions;
b) To encourage higher education institutions, organizations, and individuals to support scientific research activities for young lecturers and students.
- Organization time of the Award
a) The award for young lecturers is organized every 03 years.
b) The award for students is organized annually.
Thus, the Science and Technology Award for Students is organized annually.
What documents are included in the application for the Science and Technology Award for students in Vietnam?
Based on Clause 2, Article 7 of the Regulation on considering the Science and Technology Award for young lecturers and students in higher education institutions issued together with Circular 45/2020/TT-BGDDT, the application for the Science and Technology Award for students includes:
- Registration form for participating in the Science and Technology Award for students; (1)
- Three (03) summary reports of the topic participating in the Award; (2)
- One (01) set of proof materials of published scientific results from the research topic or reviews, evaluations from organizations that have applied the research results of the topic (if any); copies of documents, scientific and technological materials, other documents related to the work (if any); (3)
- Proof documents to determine the maximum number of topics to be sent by the higher education institution as regulated in Clause 2, Article 5 of the Regulation on considering the Science and Technology Award for young lecturers and students issued together with Circular 45/2020/TT-BGDDT. (4)
- One (01) electronic file containing all the documents stated in (1), (2), (3), (4).
