Under Article 1 of Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT 2024:
Issuance of the framework for the 2024-2025 academic year plan for preschool, general education, and continuing education nationwide:
1. The earliest school opening date is set 1 week before the official commencement ceremony. For first graders, the earliest start date is 2 weeks prior to the commencement ceremony.
2. The commencement ceremony is organized on September 05, 2024.
3. The first semester ends before January 18, 2025, and the school year is completed before May 31, 2025.
4. The recognition of completion of primary education and graduation from lower secondary education is conducted before June 30, 2025.
5. Enrollment for the first classes of all educational levels is completed before July 31, 2025.
6. The national high school exam 2025 is scheduled to take place on June 26 and June 27, 2025.
7. Other national-level exams are organized as per the Ministry of Education and Training’s guidelines and regulations.
The first semester of the 2024-2025 school year must end before January 18, 2025. Meanwhile, the Lunar New Year 2025 falls from January 29, 2025, to January 31, 2025.
Therefore, the 2nd semester of the 2024-2025 school year will start before the Lunar New Year 2025.
Does the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam direct the assurance of traffic safety for students during the Lunar New Year 2025?
In Official Dispatch 8258/BGDĐT-GDCTHSSV in 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training directs the assurance of traffic safety for students during the Lunar New Year 2025 as follows:
- The Departments of Education and Training direct schools to commit with parents (or guardians) not to allow students to use motorbikes, or motorcycles without a driving license, and below the legal age; mandate wearing helmets for students on motorcycles, motorbikes, and electric two-wheelers.
- Universities, academies, colleges, and teacher training schools proactively cooperate with passenger transport enterprises to organize train and bus ticket sales for students at schools, and dormitories; arrange the New Year and Tet Holiday breaks, and the post-Tet return to reduce traffic pressure before, and during, and after the Tet Holiday.
- Educational institutions should enhance propaganda, encouraging staff, educators, workers, and students to comply with traffic laws, follow directives and guidance from authorities; proactively engage in safe traffic and adhere to regulations:
+ Do not drive under the influence of alcohol;
+ Avoid speeding and reckless driving;
+ Do not carry more passengers than allowed; wear standard helmets on motorbikes, motorcycles, and electric bikes; prevent railway crossing and inland waterway accidents;
+ Do not use mobile phones while driving in traffic, etc.
- The Ministry of Education and Training requests units to fully and correctly implement these contents, and report the results to the Ministry of Education and Training by February 15, 2025.
