What are the guidelines for taking the Violympic in the 2024-2025 school year at Vietnam?

On November 10, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch No. 5943/BGDDT-GDTrH 2022 approving the contents of the Violympic playground scheme for secondary school students.

Below are the guidelines for taking the Violympic in the 2024-2025 school year:

(1) In case you already have an account on Violympic vn

Step 1: Access the website: https://violympic.vn/ >> Then Log in to your account

Step 2: After logging in to your account >> Select "Enter Exam" to participate in the Violympic competition for the academic year 2024-2025

(2) In case you do not have an account on Violympic vn

To register for the Violympic, create an account on the Violympic homepage by accessing the following link: https://violympic.vn/.

On the main interface of the Violympic homepage, click on the Register button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Next, you need to enter the following information.

Surname, Middle Name: Enter your surname and middle name.

Name: Enter your name.

Date of Birth: Enter your date of birth.

Login Account Name: This is the account name used to log in.

Password: Enter your password.

Email Address: Email address used to activate the account.

Phone: Enter your phone number.

Address: Enter your address.

School: Select your current school and class grade.

And some other information.

Step 3: After filling in complete information, accept the terms and click the Register button.

Note when registering: When the website notifies "You have successfully registered, please log in to the system," it means you are officially a member of the website.

If the above notification does not appear, it means there is some invalid information during the filling process, and you should re-register.

When registering, you may encounter the notification: "Username already exists." In this case, you must re-register.

You should still declare your surname and name as usual, but choose a different username. Currently, the website has millions of registered members, so the username you selected being already in use is normal.

Step 4: This is the interface when you successfully register.

After successfully registering a Violympic account, to practice for the exam, click on "Enter Exam."

Step 5: On this interface are your personal information and the start time for the exam. Additionally, you can update or change your personal information, password, etc., at the dropdown on the right screen. Change the profile picture at the left corner of the screen by selecting Photo to change your profile picture.

The rules of the Violympic in the 2024-2025 school year at Vietnam Download are as follows:

(1) Participants eligible for the Violympic:

All secondary school students nationwide can register to participate in the following subjects and grades:

* Mathematics: for students from grade 1 to 12.

* Mathematics in English: for students from grade 1 to 9.

* Vietnamese Language: for students from grade 1 to 5.

* Natural Sciences: for students from grade 6 to 9.

* History and Geography: for students in grades 4 and 5.

(2) Registration method

- Students register an account to participate in the playground on the Website: https://violympic.vn/ as stipulated by the Organizing Committee (OC). Students register for a specific grade, and they can only participate in the exam for that grade.

- To participate in the playground, students need to pay a maintenance fee for their account on the system. The specific fee will be announced by the OC on the official Website and is valid from September 5, 2024, to April 30, 2025. Accounts that paid fees from May 1, 2024, to September 4, 2024, remain valid until April 30, 2025.

- After having an account, students log in with the registered username and password and press the “Start” button to join the Playground.

(3) Playground regulations

Students must sequentially pass the challenges in 03 stages: Preliminary Round, Sectional Rounds, and National Round.

(i) Test structure and duration.

- At each challenge, the test will have 30 questions.

- The test duration for students at each challenge is 30 minutes.

(ii) Ranking criteria.

- Points and time taken to overcome the challenges are the two indicators for ranking students.

- The ranking results of students when participating in challenges in different stages are independent.

- After 24 hours, the ranking board will be updated by the system.

(iii) Preliminary Round.

- Eligibility: all registered students on the system can participate at any time since the round opens.

- For subjects: Math, Math in English, and Vietnamese, students must complete challenges from 01 to 06 sequentially.

- For subjects: Natural Sciences, History, and Geography, students must complete rounds from 01 to 03 sequentially.

- The minimum condition to pass each challenge is 200 points.

- Students can retake challenges multiple times, and a challenge only ends when a student presses the “Submit Result” button.

(iv) Sectional Rounds include: School-level, District/County-level, and Province/City-level rounds.

- The test duration for students is calculated from when the test code is opened on the system.

- Ten minutes before the exam starts, the Examination Council will announce the Test Code. Ten minutes after the exam session opens, the system will automatically lock the test code.

(4) Certificates and Awards

(i) Sectional Rounds.

Educational units can proactively develop plans to award prizes and Certificates of Completion to winning students. The OC has a general award determination rule as follows:

School-level and District/County-level rounds.

- The OC will award online Certificates of Completion for School and District/County Rounds to students achieving at least 180 points.

Province/City-level rounds.

- The OC will issue Certificates of Completion to students completing the Province/City-level round who meet the following criteria:

Excellent Completion: Students achieve at least 250 points.

Good Completion: Students score from 200 to 240 points.

Completion: Students score from 150 to 190 points.

(ii) National Round.

Medals and certificates.

- The OC only awards and issues Certificates to students scoring at least 200 points in the National Contest in each specific subject and grade:

Gold Award: Top 2% of total students participating, with at least 260 points.

Silver Award: 3% of total students participating, with at least 240 points.

Bronze Award: 5% of total students participating, with at least 220 points.

Consolation Prize: 15% of total students participating, with at least 200 points.

- The OC will issue online National Certificates to students after announcing the list of winning students, along with a recognition decision.

(5) Rewards.

Rewards for the top 20 students in each subject of each grade are as follows:

- Top 1: Prize worth 15,000,000 VND;

- Top 2 – 3: Physical prize worth 5,000,000 VND;

- Top 4 – 10: Physical prize worth 1,000,000 VND;

- Top 11 – 20: Physical prize worth 500,000 VND.

What are the 05 duties of secondary school students in Vietnam?

According to Article 34 of the lower secondary school, upper secondary school and multi-level school charter issued by the Ministry of Education and Training with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT, secondary school students in Vietnam have specific duties as follows:

- Learn and train according to curricula and education plans of their schools.

- Respect their parents, officials, teachers and staff of their schools, and those older than them; maintain solidarity and mutual support in learning and training; conform to the charter and rules of their schools; and abide by the law.

- Take exercises and maintain personal hygiene.

- Participate in group activities of their schools and classes, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; help their families, join physical and social activities and environmental protection activities, and maintain traffic order and safety.

- Protect school and public property; contribute to fostering, preservation and enhancement of school traditions.
