Under Article 11 of the Regulation on Assessment of Training Results for Students issued together with Circular 16/2015/TT-BGDDT, the process of assessing the training results of university students is as follows:

Step 1: Students, based on their training results, self-assess according to the detailed scoring criteria set by the university.

Step 2: A class meeting is organized with the participation of the homeroom teacher or academic advisor. The class reviews and approves each student's self-assessment score based on verified evidence. The score must receive more than half of the class unit's approval and be accompanied by a Minutes of the meeting.

The homeroom teacher/academic advisor confirms the class meeting results and forwards them to the Faculty-level Training Result Assessment Council (hereinafter referred to as the Faculty Council).

Step 3: The Faculty Council meets to review, unify, and report to the Faculty Head for approval. The results are then submitted to the University-level Training Result Assessment Council (hereinafter referred to as the University Council).

Step 4: The University Council meets to review, unify, and submit the results to the Principal for approval and recognition.

The assessment and grading results of students' training results must be publicly announced and communicated to the students at least 20 days before the official decision is issued.

What is the point scale for assessing the training results of university students in Vietnam?

Under Article 3 of the Regulation on Assessment of Training Results for Students issued together with Circular 16/2015/TT-BGDDT, the point scale for assessing the training results of university students is 100 points.

What are the regulations on the use of the assessment results of the training results of university students in Vietnam?

Under Article 14 of the Regulation on Assessment of Training Results for Students issued together with Circular 16/2015/TT-BGDDT, the use of the assessment results of the training results of university students is as follows:

- The assessment results of each semester and academic year are stored in the student's dossier at the university, used for scholarship consideration, commendation and disciplinary review, discontinuation, leave of absence, dormitory residence approval, part-time job approval, fee and service reductions, dormitory activities, and other priorities according to university regulations.

- The assessment results for the entire course are stored in the student's dossier at the university, used as a basis for graduation exams, thesis or graduation project assessment.

- The assessment results for the entire course are included in the academic transcript and stored in the student's file upon graduation.

- Students with excellent training results are considered for commendation and awards by the university.

- Students ranked poor in training results for two consecutive semesters must temporarily leave for at least one subsequent semester. If ranked poor for two more consecutive semesters, they will be expelled.

Is it required to assess the training results of university students expelled from school in Vietnam?

Under Article 10 of the Regulation on Assessment of Training Results for Students issued together with Circular 16/2015/TT-BGDDT:

Grading for assessment

1. During the period when a student is disciplined with a reprimand, the training result assessment result cannot exceed the Good category.

2. During the period when a student is disciplined with a warning, the training result assessment result cannot exceed the Average category.

3. Students disciplined with a suspension are not assessd for training results during the suspension period.

4. Students disciplined with expulsion are not assessd for training results.

5. Students who complete their study program and graduate later than the prescribed duration of the course continue to be assessd for training results during the extension period, depending on the cause for delayed graduation.

6. Students with disabilities, orphans, or those with especially difficult family circumstances confirmed by local authorities are given priority, encouragement, and extra points based on their efforts and improvements for training results assessment, depending on specific circumstances.
