What are the science and technology fields included in the Science and Technology Award for young lecturers in higher education institutions in Vietnam?
According to Article 3 of the Regulation on Consideration for awarding the Science and Technology Award for Young Lecturers and Students in Higher Education Institutions issued together with Circular 45/2020/TT-BGDDT, the science and technology fields included in the Science and Technology Award for young lecturers in higher education institutions include:
- Natural Sciences: Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science and Information, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Biology, and other Natural Sciences.
- Engineering and Technology Sciences: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering and Metallurgy, Medical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Food and Beverage Processing Engineering, and other Engineering and Technology Sciences.
- Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences: Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Biotechnology in Medicine, and other Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Agricultural Sciences: Crops, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Forestry, Fisheries, Agricultural Biotechnology, and other Agricultural Sciences.
- Social Sciences: Psychology, Economics and Business, Education Science, Sociology, Law, Political Science, Economic and Social Geography, Mass Communication and Media, and other Social Sciences.
- Humanities: History and Archeology, Linguistics, Literature and Culture, Philosophy, Journalism and Information, Ethics and Religion, Arts, and other Humanities.

What is the purpose and time for organizing the Science and Technology Award for Young Lecturers in Vietnam?
Under Article 2 of the Regulation on Consideration for awarding the Science and Technology Award for Young Lecturers and Students in Higher Education Institutions issued together with Circular 45/2020/TT-BGDDT, the purpose and time for organizing the Science and Technology Award for Young Lecturers are as follows:
- Purpose of the Award
+ To commend outstanding achievements and encourage young lecturers to participate in scientific research and technological development and apply these to solve real-life issues; contribute to the improvement of training quality, and socio-economic development, and discover and nurture young scientific talents in higher education institutions;
+ To encourage higher education institutions, organizations, and individuals to support scientific research activities for young lecturers.
- Time for organizing the Award: Every 3 years.
What are the criteria for projects sent to be considered for the Science and Technology Award by young lecturers?
Under Clause 1 of Article 4 of the Regulation on Consideration for awarding the Science and Technology Award for Young Lecturers and Students in Higher Education Institutions issued together with Circular 45/2020/TT-BGDDT, the projects of young lecturers sent to be considered for the Science and Technology Award must meet the following criteria:
+ Each project must be primarily conducted by one young lecturer, and the number of team members must not exceed 5;
+ The project must have been evaluated and accepted as per regulations, and must have been published or applied in practice for at least one year up to the time of submission of the application for the Award;
+ The project must not have received or been concurrently submitted for any other national or international Award up to the time of submission for the Award.

3. Persons having topics and porjects sent to be considered for the Science and Technology Award
a) Lecturers who are not older than 35 years at the time of submission for the Award (hereinafter referred to as young lecturers) and have scientific and technological projects defined in clauses 1 and 2, Article 3 of Decree No. 78/2014/ND-CP dated July 30, 2014, of the Government of Vietnam on the Ho Chi Minh Prize, State Prize, and other awards for science and technology to be submitted for the Award (hereinafter referred to as the work);
b) Students currently studying at higher education institutions at the time of submission for the Award with scientific research projects to be submitted for the Award (hereinafter referred to as the project).
Thus, the eligible age of young lecturers sending projects to be considered for the Science and Technology Award in Vietnam is not older than 35 years at the time of submission.
