- Swimming: High School (male, female).
- Table Tennis: High School (male, female).
- Volleyball: High School (male, female).
- Football: Finals Elementary (male), Middle School (male), High School (male, female).
- Basketball: High School (male, female).
- Badminton: High School (male, female).
- Chess: Elementary, Middle School, and High School, according to age groups (male, female).
- Shuttlecock Kicking: High School (male, female).
- Athletics: High School (male, female).
- Karate: Middle School, High School (male, female).
- Tug of War: High School (male, female).
- Taekwondo: Middle School, High School (male, female).
- Aerobic Gymnastics: High School (male, female).

Who can participate in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Game 2024?
Based on Article 5 of the Rules of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Game 2024 issued together with Decision 3318/QD-BGDDT 2023, participants in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Game 2024 include:
Students in regular schools; continuous education students (hereinafter collectively referred to as students) aged 18 years old and below, studying at educational institutions within the national education system.
Additionally, those not eligible to participate in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Game 2024 include:
- Students who are athletes and have been or are currently being trained at centers or clubs for athlete training under Ministries, sectors, localities (from district, provincial to central city levels), sports talent schools, or high schools for sports and physical training receiving benefits from state budget policies, organizations, enterprises (from January 1, 2022, to the time of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Game 2024).
- Students who have won medals in annual high-performance sports competitions at the national and international levels organized by the General Department of Physical Education and Sports, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (now the Department of Physical Education and Sports), national and international sports federations and associations.
- Students with a history of cardiovascular, neurological diseases, or other health issues that prevent them from participating in sports competitions.
- Students who are under disciplinary action from a warning level or higher and students who are involved in legal violations (with formal documents from competent authorities).
Moreover, the age regulations for participation are as follows:
- Elementary students aged from 07 to 11 years old
+ Age group: 07 - 09 years old (born from December 31, 2017, or earlier to January 1, 2015).
+ Age group: 10-11 years old (born from December 31, 2014, or earlier to January 1, 2013).
- Middle School students aged from 12 to 15 years old
+ Age group: 12 - 13 years old (Middle School students born from December 31, 2012, or earlier to January 1, 2011).
+ Age group: 14 - 15 years old (Middle School students born from December 31, 2010, or earlier to January 1, 2009).
- High School students: From 16 - 18 years old (born from December 31, 2008, or earlier to January 1, 2006).
Note: Students in a lower educational level who exceed the regulated age may participate in the adjacent higher educational level, but not beyond the age limit of that level. Each student can register to compete for only one unit, at one educational level, and in one sport (excluding Tug of War).
How often are the National Phu Dong Sports Game held?
Based on Article 10 of Circular 48/2020/TT-BGDDT, the regulations are as follows:
Responsibilities of Departments of Education and Training
1. Annually, inspect and evaluate the implementation of this Circular to understand the current situation and promptly direct, guide, and propose adjustments to appropriate regulations.
2. Organize training classes to improve professional qualifications and appoint management staff, physical education teachers to participate in training, refresher courses, and seminars to update information and enhance professional qualifications.
3. Facilitate the increase in new constructions, repairs, and improvements in the quantity and quality of facilities to support academic, training, and competition activities for student sports.
4. Annually direct and organize sports competition activities at all levels for students with appropriate scale and forms according to practical conditions to develop the school sports movement. Assign teams to participate in sports competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Student Sports Association.
5. Direct, inspect, and organize the Phu Dong Sports Festival periodically:
a) School level: Organized once a year during the anniversary days.
b) District, county, city level (under provincial administration): Organized every two years.
c) Provincial level, centrally governed cities: Depending on the actual conditions of each locality, organized every two years or four years.
d) National Phu Dong Sports Game: Organized every four years.
The National Phu Dong Sports Game are held every four years.
