Can candidates in Vietnam skip online confirmation and just enroll directly at the university?

Based on Clause 2, Article 21 of the University Admission Regulations and Preschool Education College Admission Regulations issued under Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT:

Notification of Results and Enrollment Confirmation

1. Training institutions send admission notices to successful candidates, specifying the necessary procedures for students upon enrollment and the enrollment methods.

2. Candidates confirm enrollment online on the system before enrolling at the training institution.

3. For candidates who do not confirm enrollment within the stipulated time:

a) If without a legitimate reason, it is considered that the candidate has refused admission and the training institution has the right not to accept them;

b) If due to illness, accidents, with a certificate from a district-level hospital or higher, or due to natural disasters with certification from the district-level People's Committee or higher, the training institution shall consider deciding to accept the candidate into the institution or defer the admission result for the candidate to enroll later;

c) If due to mistakes or errors caused by admission officers or individual candidates, the training institution shall proactively cooperate with related individuals and organizations to review the evidence and decide whether to accept the candidate or defer the admission result for the candidate to enroll later.

4. Candidates who have confirmed enrollment at one training institution are not allowed to apply for admission elsewhere or in subsequent admission rounds, except with the permission of the original training institution.

Candidates must confirm enrollment online on the system before enrolling directly at the training institution.

Who is eligible to register for additional admission in Vietnam?

Based on Clause 4, Article 21 of the University Admission Regulations and Preschool Education College Admission Regulations issued under Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT:

Organization for Registration and Evaluation of Supplemental Admission Rounds

1. Based on the admission quotas and the number of candidates who have confirmed enrollment in the programs, the admissions council of the training institution shall consider and decide on the supplemental admission rounds. The training institution shall publicize the admission plan, evaluation methods, and registration methods for supplemental admission rounds; admission conditions for programs under each admission method, which shall not be lower than the previous admission conditions.

2. Candidates who have not been admitted or have been admitted but have not confirmed enrollment anywhere may register for supplemental admission rounds according to the plan and guidelines of the training institution.

3. At the end of each admission round, the training institution shall publish on its website the admission scores (and any additional conditions or criteria) for programs under the admission methods; organize for candidates to check their individual admission results; send admission notices and guidelines to successful candidates for enrollment.

Thus, candidates who have not been admitted or have been admitted but have not confirmed enrollment anywhere may register for supplemental admission rounds according to the plan and guidelines of the training institution.

What is the time for addition admission in Vietnam?

According to Official Dispatch 1957/BGDDT-GDDH 2024 guiding university admission and admission for Preschool Education College:

From August 28, 2024, to December 2024, candidates who wish to apply for addition admission rounds of training institutions, according to the admission plan available on the training institution's admission information website (if the training institution plans supplemental admission). Admitted candidates who have already confirmed enrollment are not allowed to apply for supplemental admission, except in cases where permitted by the head of the training institution.

The supplemental admission period is from August 28, 2024, to December 2024.

Candidates who wish to apply for additional admission rounds must follow the admission plan of the training institution posted on the admission information website (if the training institution plans supplemental admission).
