- Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) offers the longest Tet holiday for students, lasting 31 days from January 20 to February 19, 2025 (from the 21st day of the last lunar month to the 22nd day of the first lunar month). Including two preceding weekends, students may have up to 33 days off.
- Ho Chi Minh City University of Law offers a 30-day Tet holiday from January 18 to February 16. Other universities commonly provide a 14-21 day Tet holiday for students, excluding 1-2 weekend days.
- Additionally, some universities organize online teaching 1 to 2 weeks before and after Tet, such as Banking University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, University of Finance and Marketing, and Van Hien University. Under Clause 1, Article 8 of Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT, the specific requirements for teaching and learning organization at universities in Vietnam are as follows:
- Enhance professional capacity and responsibility of lecturers in compliance with working regulations for lecturers;
- Enhance the proactive role and responsibility of students, enable and motivate students to learn; maintain school discipline and improve training quality and efficiency;
- Provide internal supervision and inspection mechanisms and systems for quality improvement based on feedback collected from students.
What are the cases of handling of violations committed by students in Vietnam?
Under Article 20 of Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT, the cases of handling of violations committed by students in Vietnam are as follows:
- Students committing fraud in examinations and academic performance assessments shall be subject to disciplinary actions for each unit of study where they commit fraud according to regulations of the applicable regulation on high school graduation exam promulgated by the Ministry of Education and Training, unless otherwise provided for in Clause 2 of Article 20 of Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT.
- Students sitting exams for other people or asking other people to sit their exams shall be suspended from study for 01 year if they commit this violation for the first time and forced to leave school if they commit this violation for the second time.
- Students using forged documents, degrees or certificates to apply for admission or graduation shall be forced to leave school; and any graduation degree awarded shall be confiscated and disposed of.
