What is the content of the 6th-grade Local Education curriculum in Vietnam?
Under Section 5 of the General Education Program promulgated with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the content of the Local Education curriculum in Vietnam is specified as follows:
- Local education content involves basic or current issues regarding culture, history, geography, economy, society, environment, vocational guidance, etc., of the local area. It complements the compulsory uniform education content nationwide, equipping students with knowledge about their place of residence, fostering love for their hometown, awareness of learning, and applying what they have learned to help solve local issues.
- At the lower secondary level, local education content holds a position equivalent to other subjects.
- Based on the general education program, the People's Committees of the provinces and municipalities prescribe the standards, and processes for compiling, appraising, and revising materials on local education content; they direct the organization of compiling and appraisal of materials on local education content as guided by the Ministry of Education and Training and report for approval by the Ministry of Education and Training.
What are the regulations on the manners of 6th-grade students in the Local Education subject in Vietnam?
Under Article 36 of the lower secondary school, upper secondary school and multi-level school charter as promulgated with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT:
Manners and attire of students
1. Students must have appropriate, respectful, friendly and cultured manners and language that suit the moral values and lifestyle of secondary school students.
2. Student’s attire must be proper, clean, tidy, appropriate for their age and convenient for learning and other activities at school. Depending on the capacity of each school, the school principal may decide whether to let students wear uniform and seek approval from the parent committee of the school.
Thus, under the above regulations,6th-grade students must have appropriate, respectful, friendly and cultured manners and language that suit the moral values and lifestyle of secondary school students in the Local Education subject.
