On July 16, 2024, the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City issued Resolution 12/2024/NQ-HDND regulating the tuition fees for preschool, public general education, continuing education institutions, and other institutions implementing general education programs in Ho Chi Minh City, effective from the 2024 - 2025 school year. Tuition fees in Ho Chi Minh City are divided into two groups of subjects as follows:
Group 1: Students studying at schools in Thu Duc City and districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, and Binh Tan.
Group 2: Students studying at schools in the districts of Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be, and Can Gio.
What are the tuition fees in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024?
Based on Article 2 Resolution 12/2024/NQ-HDND, the tuition fees in Ho Chi Minh City for 2024 are stipulated as follows:
(1) Tuition fees from the 2024 - 2025 school year for preschool, public general education institutions that do not fully cover their recurrent expenditures are as follows:
(2) The tuition fees for primary education serve as a basis to implement policies supporting tuition fees for private primary school students in areas without sufficient public primary schools and for private primary school students eligible for tuition fee exemptions or reductions as stipulated.
(3) Children attending 5-year-old preschools will be exempt from tuition fees starting from the 2024 - 2025 school year (effective from September 01, 2024).
(4) Lower secondary school students will be exempt from tuition fees from the 2025 - 2026 school year (effective from September 01, 2025).
(5) Tuition fees from the 2024 - 2025 school year for preschool, public general education institutions that self-fund their recurrent expenditures: such institutions will set tuition fees based on economic and technical standards, cost norms, and submit them to the City People's Committee for approval by the City People's Council.
(6) For continuing education institutions and other training institutions implementing general education programs, the tuition fees will be equivalent to those of public general education institutions of the same educational level in Ho Chi Minh City.
(7) The tuition fees for online learning (online study) will be 50% of the tuition fees of public education institutions as regulated. Tuition fees are rounded to the nearest thousand dong.
