According to Article 2 of Circular 27/2023/TT-BGDDT, the rules of selecting 3rd-grade textbooks in Vietnam are as follows:

- Textbooks must be selected from the list approved by the Minister of Education and Training for stable use in educational institutions.

- Each grade selects one (1) textbook for each subject, educational activity (including contents, optional study topics if any) performed at the educational institution (hereafter referred to as subjects).

- The selection of textbooks ensures democracy, objectivity, publicity, transparency, and the benefits of the students.

What is the age of students entering 3rd grade in Vietnam?

Under Article 33 of the Primary School Charter issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, the age of primary school students is regulated as follows:

Age of primary school students

1. The age for entry into the first grade is 06. Disabled children, children with developmental delays, children in particularly disadvantaged areas, ethnic minority children, orphans with no caretaker, children returning from abroad, or children of foreigners working and studying in Vietnam may enter the first grade at an age higher than regulated, but not exceeding 03 years. Cases where children enter the first grade over 03 years above the regulation will be decided by the Director of Division of Education and Training.
