1. Summer vacation of teachers:
a) Annual summer vacation of teachers of institutions for preschool education, institutions for general education, and special schools is 8 weeks, including annual permitted leave;
b) Annual summer vacation of teachers of vocational secondary schools and colleges is 6 weeks, including annual permitted leave;
c) Annual summer vacation of teachers of institutions of higher education shall comply with organizational and operational regulations of the institutions of higher education;
d) In case of any irregularity, emergency cases for prevention of natural disasters, diseases or other emergencies, summer vacation of teachers of institutions for preschool education, institutions for general education, special schools, vocational secondary schools and colleges shall be decided by Minister of Education and Training and Minister of Labor – War Invalids and Social Affairs depending on entitlement.

What are the duties of primary school teachers in Vietnam?
According to Article 27 of the Charter of Primary Schools issued alongside Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, the duties of primary school teachers in Vietnam are regulated as follows:
(1) Teachers have the following duties:
- Implement the general primary education program and the school's educational plan. Proactively execute and take responsibility for the educational plan; be autonomous and accountable for executing professional tasks (content, teaching methods, student assessment) and the quality and effectiveness of education for each student responsible, ensuring compliance with the educational program, suitable for students and the specific conditions of the school.
- Participate in building educational plans of professional groups and the school; regularly update instructions from the sector; prepare, organize teaching, and assess students as prescribed; perform other professional activities.
- Build friendly, democratic relationships between teachers and students, with students' parents, and the community; assist students in being proactive, creative, confident, and autonomous in learning and training.
- Maintain the dignity, honor, and prestige of the teacher; practice cultural behavior, and unity, assist colleagues; set an example for students; love, treat students fairly, and respect them; protect the legal rights and interests of students.
- Conduct self-assessment according to professional teacher standards; self-study and self-improvement to enhance professional capacity; carry out regular training tasks as prescribed; share expertise with colleagues within and outside the school during professional activities and training sessions.
- Apply information technology in teaching, learning, and professional activities; be creative and flexible in making teaching aids.
- Participate in selecting textbooks as prescribed; request the school to provide relevant reference materials and teaching equipment for use in teaching.
- Engage in educational quality accreditation.
- Participate in mandatory education, universal education, and literacy eradication in the locality.
- Collaborate with the Ho Chi Minh Pioneer Youth Team, students' families, the community, and related social organizations to carry out educational tasks.
- Manage and implement educational plans at school sites when assigned by the principal.
- Perform other tasks as stipulated by law and as assigned by the principal.
(2) Homeroom teachers, apart from the above-mentioned duties, have the following duties:
- Proactively gather information about each student in the assigned class; develop class educational activities that clearly reflect the goals, content, and educational methods, ensuring feasibility and suitability with the students' characteristics and practical conditions to promote the progress of both the class and individual students.
- Carry out educational activities according to the plan developed and approved by the principal.
- Work closely with students' parents or guardians, teachers, the chief of the Youth Union, and related social organizations to organize educational activities and support, supervise the learning and training of students in their managed class; compile feedback, evaluate students at the end of the first semester and end of the school year; guide students in nomination and reward proposals; draw up lists of students proposed for class retention; and complete student report cards.
- Report regularly or sporadically on the class situation to the principal.
(3) Teachers being Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization are responsible to the principal for building and organizing the implementation of activities of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization and the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers to contribute to accomplishing the comprehensive educational objectives for students.
