What are the teaching objectives of the 2nd-grade Vietnamese language?

According to sub-section 2, Section 3 of the general education program in Literature issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the teaching objectives of the 2nd-grade Vietnamese language are as follows:

- To help students form and develop essential qualities with specific expressions: love for nature, family, and homeland; awareness of origins; appreciation for beauty, goodness, and healthy emotions; interest in learning and working; honesty and integrity in study and life; awareness of responsibilities towards oneself, family, society, and the environment.

- To help students begin developing general competencies, enhancing language skills across all reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills at a basic level: reading correctly and fluently; understanding the main content and information of texts; relating and comparing beyond texts; spelling and grammar accuracy; writing some sentences, paragraphs, short essays (mainly narrative and descriptive essays); clear articulation; listening and understanding the speaker's opinions.

To develop literary competence with requirements to distinguish poetry and stories, know how to read poetry and stories; recognize the artistic beauty of words; have imagination, understanding, and appreciation for the beauty, goodness of humans and the world as expressed in literary texts.
