Phase 1 events, including: 11 sporting events
- Swimming: primary school, lower secondary school (male, female).
- Table Tennis: primary school, lower secondary school (male, female).
- Volleyball: lower secondary school (male, female).
- Soccer: preliminary rounds of primary school, lower secondary school, upper secondary school.
- Basketball: lower secondary school (male, female).
- Badminton: lower secondary school (male, female).
- Shuttlecock Kicking: primary school, lower secondary school (male, female).
- Tug of War: lower secondary school (male, female).
- Track and Field: primary school, lower secondary school (male, female).
- Aerobic Gymnastics: primary school, lower secondary school.
Phase 2 events: Including 15 sporting events
- Swimming: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Table Tennis: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Volleyball: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Soccer: finals of primary school (male), lower secondary school (male), upper secondary school (male, female).
- Basketball: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Badminton: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Chess: primary school, lower secondary school, and upper secondary school, according to age groups (male, female).
- Shuttlecock Kicking: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Track and Field: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Karate: lower secondary school, upper secondary school (male, female).
- Tug of War: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Taekwondo: lower secondary school, upper secondary school (male, female).
- Aerobic Gymnastics: upper secondary school (male, female).
- Vovinam: lower secondary school, upper secondary school (male, female).
- Traditional Martial Arts: lower secondary school, upper secondary school (male, female).
Competitions at school, district, and provincial levels
Based on the number of sports regulated in the Regulations of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024, the sports movement, and the specific conditions of the school, locality, and units, they can independently choose and decide on the number of sports included in the Phu Dong Health Festival at the school, district, and provincial levels to motivate and attract a large number of students to practice and participate in the competition.

Who are eligible to participate in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 in Vietnam?
Based on Article 5 of the Regulations of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 issued with Decision 3318/QD-BGDDT in 2023, the participants of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 include:
General education students; continuing education students (hereafter collectively referred to as students) under the age of 18 studying at educational institutions in the national education system.
Furthermore, participants who are NOT eligible for the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 include:
- Students who are athletes currently or formerly trained at training centers, clubs of ministries, sectors, localities (from district, province, centrally-run city levels), sports schools, or specialized sports upper secondary schools benefiting from policies funded by the state budget, organizations, enterprises (from January 1, 2022, to the time of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024).
- Students who have won medals at annual sports tournaments under the high-achievement sports competition system domestically and internationally organized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (now the Department of Sports and Physical Training), national and international sports federations and associations.
- Students with a history of cardiovascular, neurological, or other health conditions deemed unfit for sports competition.
- Students who are currently under probation or have violated the law (with documentation from the competent authorities).

Based on Clause 10, Article 7 of the Regulations of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 issued with Decision 3318/QD-BGDDT in 2023, the overall ranking of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 by medals is as follows:
Ranked from high to low based on the total number of Gold medals, total Silver medals, total Bronze medals achieved at the Regional Phu Dong Health Festival plus the total medals achieved at the National Phu Dong Health Festival multiplied by a coefficient of 2, calculated as follows:
Total Gold Medals = Total Regional Gold Medals + (Total National Gold Medals) x 02.
Total Silver Medals = Total Regional Silver Medals + (Total National Silver Medals) x 02.
Total Bronze Medals = Total Regional Bronze Medals + (Total National Bronze Medals) x 02.
If the total number of medals is equal, the ranking is determined by the order from high to low of the total number of Gold Medals, total Silver Medals, and total Bronze Medals obtained at the national round.
