On December 10, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training officially issued Decision No. 3953/QD-BGDDT of 2024 Download here providing guidance on the Rules for the 7th Students' Startup Ideas Competition (SV_STARTUP - 7th edition).

The roadmap for rounds of the 7th Students' Startup Ideas Competition in 2024? is as follows:

Furthermore, the rules for the Students' Startup Ideas Competition include:

(1) Participants and Eligibility

- Participants include:

+ University and pedagogical college students (referred to as training institutions);

+ Upper secondary school students, with encouragement for lower secondary and continuing education center students to participate.

- Eligibility:

+ Register as a group or individual (referred to as a Team); each individual can only register with 01 Team; each Team has up to 05 members; Team members cannot be changed once the project is officially submitted and registered with the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET).

+ The product/service (or idea) of the Team must not be on the list of prohibited products/services and must not infringe intellectual property rights according to legal regulations.

(2) 5 Competition Categories

  1. Industry.

  2. Agriculture, forestry, aquaculture.

  3. Education, healthcare, culture, tourism.

  4. Financial services, banking.

  5. Social impact business.

(3) Application for Participation

- Student teams register for the competition through their school units; high school teams register through the provincial/city DoET.

- For the semifinal and final rounds, training institutions and DoETs summarize and submit the competition dossiers to the MoET. The dossier includes:

+ Official Dispatch submitting the Teams, application form as per Appendix 04 of Decision No. 3953/QD-BGDDT of 2024.

+ Project products.

(4) Competition Entry Regulations

1. Form

Entries must be in Vietnamese, a maximum of 10 pages, typed on A4 paper, font size 14, Times New Roman font (Appendix 01).

2. Products: Accompanying the entry (02 products)

- Project explanation video clip

What are the tasks regarding creating an environment to support students' startups in the Scheme to support students' startups by 2025 in Vietnam?

Under sub-section 3, section 2 Plan No. 1833/KH-BGDDT of 2024, tasks regarding creating an environment to support students' startups in the Scheme to support students' startups by 2025 in Vietnam are as follows:

- Continue to cooperate with related agencies, and units to develop, and complete reports proposing investment initiatives for technical infrastructure and incubation areas supporting small and medium enterprises in three regions: North, Central, and South.

- Enhance connections with enterprises to help institutions form common spaces supporting startups to create an environment for student groups to interact, explore knowledge, and form startup ideas and projects.

- Guide higher education institutions and DoETs to cooperate with organizations, individuals, and enterprises to pilot activities supporting startups and develop startup clubs within educational institutions.

What are the funding sources for the implementation of the Scheme to support students' startups by 2025 in Vietnam?

Under section 4 Plan No. 1833/KH-BGDDT of 2024, the funding for the implementation of the Scheme to support students' startups by 2025 in Vietnam is covered by the following sources:

- Annual budget allocation for implementing the Scheme.

- Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund.

- Human resource training program for small and medium enterprises.

- Educational and training career budget.

- Science and technology career budget.

- Economic career budget; private investment capital and other legitimate funding sources.
